Whichever Freedom Wars Remastered arms you adopt, take it from me-your Thorn will not be far behind. Though they follow the same base structure, the three different flavors Thorns come in all have unique twists in tussle scenarios.
You can use any Thorn to either pull yourself towards your enemies or the environment, or even knock enemies off their feet to make them more vulnerable to attacks. The binding Thorn is the initial item every player has in their inventory by default, but you can unlock the other two types if you would like to flesh out your build a little bit, by doing the following:.
How To Unlock Other Thorns in Freedom Wars Remastered?
For getting a new Thorn, you'll want to attain CODE level 3 in the main story of Freedom Wars Remastered. You really won't have to take that long to finish off the first two CODE levels since they're structured in a pretty linear fashion, and their level-up requirements aren't all that demanding. Once you have achieved the required CODE level, go back to your cell and activate the Window of Liberty to unlock your new Thorns.
At the top of the window select the Claim Entitlements option, then head to the "Thorn Types" menu that now has three choices - though the first choice is already unlocked, you can get Healing and Shielding for 100 Entitlement points each.
Once you've unlocked a Thorn type, head to the Thorn Type option in your loadout menu to equip it. The right side of the screen will show its numbers and an explanation of its abilities to help you choose the perfect Thorn for your play style.
How Does Freedom Wars Remastered's Thorn System Work?
Indeed, the three Thorns share similar basic abilities of grabbing and grappling, but the charged-up capabilities are very different in each thorn.
Abilities:
- Snare: Ties up enemies or can be charged to snare Abductors more quickly.
- Healing: Restores health to a single ally or can be charged to heal all nearby allies for a short time.
- Shielding: Boosts the defense of you and nearby allies or can be charged to create a thorn wall that protects from projectiles.
Passive:
- Drags Down Abductors: Abductors are slowed down.
- Continuous Healing: Allies' health is slowly restored over time.
- Enhanced Defense: Allies' defense is slightly increased.
