Our guide today aims to explain to you How to play local multiplayer in Fortnite Festival, let's go. When Fortnite Festival was announced on December 9, 2023, the Fortnite ecosystem blew up a bit into the rhythm game genre. This mode, dreamed up by Harmonix studios of Guitar Hero and Rock Band fame, gave players a taste of their own musical style while they could play virtual guitar, drums, bass, and vocals to cover songs by different artists.
Each season of Fortnite Festival has a unique theme and headlining music icon, with Season 1 headlined by The Weeknd and Season 2 by Lady Gaga. New tracks and exclusive content are added each time the festival gets updated. And now, with the addition of the long-anticipated feature-local multiplayer-gamers are more hyped than ever for Season 7.
How to play local multiplayer in Fortnite Festival?
Fortnite Festival will introduce Local Multiplayer on January 14, 2025 with the v33.20 patch, one that promises to bring a whole lot of new content to Battle Royale and Chapter 6. Just to reiterate, though: this update simply allows Xbox and PlayStation players to play Fortnite Festival in a more communal setting, akin to the local co-op sessions that were synonymous with Rock Band and Guitar Hero.
According to Epic, the feature aims to revive the joy of playing music in real-time with friends, broadening the game's appeal. To further personalize your Fortnite Festival experience, the game mode supports Guitar Hero controllers and other third-party controllers.
Start a local multiplayer game in Fortnite with these easy steps!
First things first: Fortnite Festival's local multiplayer mode can only support a maximum of four players. The second step to getting Fortnite up and running on your console is creating a few accounts, and linking those to different Epic Games accounts. Let's use Festival as an example. With four players in the mix, you'd create four accounts on your console - each linked to a different Fortnite account.
When ready, launch Fortnite, turn on your controller, and sit in the lobby while account selecting. Through the host who launched Fortnite, you will be able to switch the mode to Fortnite Festival before actually launching the game into the public or private lobby.
To fit the notes in the Fortnite Festival, it has a one-screen, four-row layout compared to the split screen of Battle Royale. As Hatsune Miku finally comes to Fortnite in this Festival season, enjoy the new game mode with your friends.
This is all you need to know about How to play local multiplayer in Fortnite Festival, just follow this step-by-step guide to enjoy everything this game has to offer.
