There is no skill tree in Eternal Strands; instead, the player advances through the game based on Strands, which are magical abilities, and the weapons and armor they own. That's why gathering resources to make weapons or improve current ones is so crucial; it lets players deal with increasingly harder foes.
By allowing players to construct their equip with various materials within the same category, Eternal Strands' crafting system takes a slightly different approach compared to typical systems. When it comes to stats, though, every material is unique, and the high-value materials offer far larger benefits. Here are the top places in Eternal Strands to farm Steel if you want to use it in your upgrades.
Eternal Strands: Steel Locations
Although it isn't a great upgrade for the mid-game or late-game realms, Steel is a 2-star Forged Resource that players can utilize to reforge their current equipment and gain considerable stat boosts.
Inn at Glintwood
Two main spots in Glintwood Hollow reliably produce Steel and Bronze ores. The red line on the chart above indicates that these ores appear on narrow ledges. Along every line on the map, you'll see three rocks.
Snaefell Gulch
While cultivating Steel in this realm is riskier than in Glintwood Hollow, the west side of The Akron's Expanse is still worth visiting if you're planning to go there otherwise. Several ores of steel and bronze can be found at the base of this massive cliff.
The only way to harm Steel or Bronze ore with the original equipment is to use a charged melee strike. No damage will be dealt by a regular melee attack, and very little damage will be dealt by a bow attack.
Steel, a top Forged Material for weapon and armor upgrades early in the game, increases damage by 12 compared to the base Sword and Shield. The cold and heat resistance of steel are unaffected by its neutrality as an ore.
Although Steel is still dropped by chests and other sources in the other higher-level worlds of Eternal Strands, Serenite and Candescite ores are more common, making Steel ores difficult to find. Forged from candescite, a 3-star material, you'll get stronger stat enhancements than Steel.
But this doesn't imply Steel is going to be worthless in the latter stages. Even if players know that they can get two Camp Supplies for every steel ore, they can still farm it to get those supplies and use them to upgrade the camp's workshops. Even if you no longer have a use for Steel ores, it is advisable to keep them in the camp for future upgrades because the amount of Camp Supplies needed for upgrading will increase dramatically from Level 3 and beyond.
