Frostbite is here to stay, and so does another new debuff with the exclusive Christmas event in Escape from Tarkov. It seems like a big addition since a lot of events and quests are based around these mechanics. This is going to be pretty vital to learn since this new mechanic can make or break your raid, putting you at extreme disadvantage. Find the mechanics of Frostbite as a debuff and means to get healed from it within the game process in Escape from Tarkov.
Learn a couple of methods to rid yourself of Frostbite. To combat frostbite, seek shelter inside or near the fire barrel - or any heat source in which you place your trust. Because the game is a touch unfinished, merely going inside of the shelter won't necessarily rid you of the Frostbite de-buff - but it should. If it doesn't - tough it out.
Move close to a source of fire and the Frostbite effect will fade, while moving away from a fire source will gradually bring the condition back. You must use these fire sources to fill up your stamina, at least in the most successful capacity. Be careful, though, because getting too close to the flame will burn your character and send him toward death in less than a few seconds.
Pack some Vodka or Whiskey in preparation for the Frostbite debuff. Drinking alcohol will increase your body temperature and cure Frostbite for the full duration of the effects, positive and negative alike.
For a more clever approach, make sure to visit all the Christmas Tree locations. They are a really good way to obtain Vodka and Whiskey, as well as many other Christmas-themed items.
Frostbite is one of the debilitating effects that can hit players while on a raid. Frostbite will hit players only when there is a snowstorm. The scenario may be confusing because the entire map is covered with snow and more flakes are gently falling to the ground. The whistling sound and the heavy fog are the most obvious signs that there is a snowstorm going on. You will instantly get the Frostbite debuff the moment you go out when you can hear and see these.
Frostbite heavily reduces both the player's maximum amount of stamina and stamina generation. Basically, this means players can't move at all. The side peripheral is also blurred, though still tolerable.
Since everything is also white and covered in snow, making it easy to see players, getting spotted in the open with a Frostbite status effect is just about a death wish as your inability to sprint makes you an easy target. Your only option then is to locate and eliminate the shooter, but at this stage that feels like a hopeless endeavor.
To avoid danger, one should avoid open areas when affected by the Frostbite status effect. It is also wise not to drink any alcoholic beverages before entering those open areas. Snowstorms usually come and go in a minute or two; hence, they will not take that long. Enter a shelter and stock up on some necessary items as one waits out the snowstorm in style.
Frostbite status effect won't lead to death.
As soon as the wipe commences, you will be familiar with a quest or, rather, a task called Chilly. As its name suggests, this is associated with the Frostbite status effect. To initiate this quest, you will need to complete the Introduction questline for unlocking Jaeger.
When you receive the Chilly challenge, you need to kill 10 targets while affected by Frostbite. Of course, this challenge can be done on any map, but the best for completion is Woods or Factory.
In Woods, you will very often receive Frostbite because the whole map is essentially one big open area. Frostbite can strike in a snowstorm in a hurry—unless, of course, you've had a few alcoholic beverages. Search the Sawmill area and focus on killing Scavs to meet your 10 targets. Live the dream in cozy cabins at Sawmill as you wait for the snowstorm to arrive, then pick off all your targets with ease.
Factory is a PvP map. If there's a snowstorm, you could clean all targets in the field if you're not inside any shelter (office). The key is that you need a good position and wait for your luck for an incoming snowstorm. Factory is infested by Scavs once the snowstorm hits within 3-7 minutes of starting the raid. You can easily spot over 10 targets in just one snowstorm; this would make your quest very easy.
In general terms, knowing How to Cure Frostbite in Escape from Tarkov, allows you to embark on the search in a faster and more comfortable way, try it.
