How to Complete the Reconnaissance Quest in Escape from Tarkov


To complete the Reconnaissance mission, you must complete the following objectives in a single raid:
  • Explore Lighthouse's first water treatment plant from above
  • Explore Lighthouse's second water treatment plant from above
  • Scan the top floor of Lighthouse's third water treatment plant.

Make it out of there alive and gather resources



You need to climb to the top of the water treatment plant buildings or warehouses marked 1, 2, and 3 in order to complete the recon objective. For example, in Building 3, if you step on the roof and don't hear a chime of an objective being finished, you must proceed to the middle near the sandbags to complete the quest. This is because some roofs may "bug" out and require you to step in a more particular place on the roof.


Either cross the river at one of the deserted settlements or head along the main road that leads to the main entrance, where you can complete the Energy Crisis assignment, to reach the water treatment plant. Going to the coastline next to the main bridge is a different, but otherwise similar, path.

Positions on the Roofs of Lighthouse One Office Buildings


There are steps that go to the roof of every building. It's easy to see how closely spaced these buildings are; they all look out over the water treatment plant's central space. The stairwells on each building are located on the side that is nearest the plant's center. This leaves you vulnerable to exploration by any player, even rogues and Scavs.


Stairs can be found in the first office building close to the main plumbing system. Get to the stairs by jumping over the pipe. Up on the second set of stairs, you'll find those obnoxious barbed wires. If you want to speed up your ascent of the stairs from the mountains, jump over it. Otherwise, you'll be slowed down.


After you've climbed upon the roof, use the same stairs to descend. Unless you're willing to risk breaking your legs doing parkour, it's your only option.

Fourth Floor of an Office Building


As a BEAR, you should be very careful around the second office building. If you're in a rush to complete the mission, dealing with the ogres that pop up within this building might be a real pain. More gamers will step in to help if you fight them for a longer time. Get on top of them as soon as you can and deal with them. Fortunately, the stairs here do not have barbed wire.

Office Building 3's Third Floor


As you may approach it by hugging the wall to the east of the water treatment plant, the third office building should provide the most protection. You can snipe all the Rogues on the rooftops before you go, and you have enough cover. In order to complete the mission, you should definitely go to this building first. This third office structure is near the helicopter you need to mark with an MS2000 marker in Easy Job Part 1.
