The Wake of the Water update for Enshrouded introduces the powerful Mill, a game-changing workstation for any serious crafter. Securing this building is crucial for players aiming to craft high-tier gear and process rare materials. This comprehensive guide will walk you through every step: from locating the essential Improved Millstone to assembling the Mill and harnessing its full potential for your base.

Unlocking the Mill Blueprint and Crafting Recipe

Your journey to building the Mill begins with the Alchemist, one of the essential survivors you can rescue. Interact with this NPC and navigate to the "Production Place" section of his crafting menu. Here, you will find the blueprint for the Mill.Before you can place it, you must gather the following construction materials:

• 30x Wooden Planks
• 20x Stone
• 10x Lump of Clay
• 10x Iron Bars
• 1x Improved Millstone

While the initial resources are relatively straightforward to collect, the Improved Millstone is a unique quest item that requires you to solve an environmental puzzle.

Finding the Improved Millstone: A Step-by-Step Guide

The key to building your Mill lies within the Veilwater Basin, specifically near the settlement of Reverreach at Dragondream Lake.

Locate the Sawmill: Head to the sawmill area in Reverreach. Be prepared to clear out any hostile enemies guarding the interior.

Find the Hidden Entrance: After securing the main building, exit through the southeastern door.Immediately below this exit, look for a small, inconspicuous hole in the structure that you can squeeze through. This passage leads directly tothe water mill chamber.

Identify the Objective: Inside, you will see the Improved Millstone lodged in a centralmechanism. You cannot simply grab it; you must first stop the water flow powering the mill.

Solving the Water Wheel Puzzle

To retrieve the Improved Millstone, you need to shut down the water wheels.

Return to the sawmill above and exit through the western door this time.

You will find yourself outside facing large water wheels. Navigate around and carefully drop down between them.

At the water level, locate two levers positioned facing the northern part of the map.

Activate both levers. This will mechanically disengage the water wheels, halting the flow of water to the mill above.

With the puzzle solved, return to the water mill chamber. The mechanism will now be still, allowing you to press 'E' (or your interact key) tocollect the Improved Millstone.

Powering and Utilizing Your New Mill

Once crafted, your Mill is not just a decorative item; it's a functionalmachine. To operate it, you must provide a power source by constructingeither Water Wheel Sails or Windmill Sails nearby.

The primary function of the Mill is to grind precious minerals andresources into valuable dusts and powders, opening up a new tier ofcrafting recipes with other survivors:

• Iron Bar → Iron Dust
• Gold Bar → Gold Dust
• Aquamarine → Aquamarine Dust
• Pear → Mother-of-Pearl

The materials produced by your Mill are the gateway to powerful gear and consumables:

• The Blacksmith: Use the new dusts to craft powerful Level 43 armor sets, providing significant defensive boosts for exploring endgame areas.
