How to get a capybara in Enshrouded Wake of the Water

The Wake of the Water update for Enshrouded introduces one of its most charming features yet: tameable capybaras. These gentle giants are more than just adorable companions; they are a valuable source of resources for crafting. However, claiming one as your own requires completing a specific quest chain. This comprehensive guide will walk you through every step to find, befriend, and care for your very own capybara.

Step 1: Locating the Capybara Oasis

Your journey begins in the new Veilwater Basin, a lush biome situated between the Albaneve Summits and the Blackmire. The most efficient route is to fast travel to the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire and glide west into the basin below.While capybaras roam the area, your primary destination is the Capybara Oasis on the western side of the region. A great launching point is the Ancient Spire in Lake Heartblood; from there, glide southwest to find the oasis teeming with the relaxing rodents.

Step 2: Starting the "Capybara Search and Rescue" Quest

At the heart of the oasis, beneath a large waterfall, you will discover a grim scene: a deceased capybara. Looting its body yields Capybara Bristles and Drak Teeth, which immediately begins the "Capybara Search and Rescue" quest. This mission reveals that the hostile Drak creatures are threatening the local population and tasks you with seeking vengeance at a nearby camp.

Step 3: Conquering the Drak Camp

The quest marker will guide you to a Drak outpost just southwest of the oasis. Be prepared for a challenging fight, as the Drak here are typically around level 39. Strategic players may opt for high-ground attacks to manage the difficulty. Your main objective is to defeat the largest Drak warrior, whose death completes the quest and rewards you with a baby capybara and experience.

Pro Tip: Before leaving, thoroughly loot the camp. You can find valuableresources like Fish Bones and a Gold Ore vein, which are essential foradvanced crafting recipes.

Step 4: Unlocking the Taming Process

With your first baby capybara secured, you can now work on taming more. Speak with the Farmer, Emily Fray, to start the "Capybara" quest. This unlocks the Capybara Bait recipe, which requires:

• 1x Sugar Cane (found in the Nomad Highlands)
• 2x Paper Reed (harvested near water sources across Embervale)
• 2x Algae (collected in the Veilwater Basin)

Step 5: How to Tame a Wild Capybara

Return to the Capybara Oasis with your bait. The taming process requires patience:

Lure: Toss a bait ball near a capybara and wait for it to approach and eat.

Hearts: A flashing yellow heart will appear above its head. Crouch and slowly move in to pet it, turning the heart red.

Retreat: After petting, back away carefully to avoid startling the animal.

Repeat: Perform this "lure and pet" cycle one more time to successfully tame it.

Watch the Icons: Be mindful of the animal's status. A yellow question mark means it'snervous—walk away immediately. If it turns into a red exclamation point, your taming progress will reset.

Step 6: Caring for Your New Companion

Once tamed, you can add the capybara to your inventory and transport it to your base. You will also unlock two new recipes:

• Capybara Feeder: Crafted at the Farmer with 7 Wood Logs and 2 Nails.
• Capybara Food: Made from 2 Paper Reeds and 3 Algae to keep your companion healthy and productive.

By following these steps, you can establish a thriving capybara sanctuaryin your Enshrouded base, ensuring a steady supply of unique resourcesand the company of the game's most laid-back creature.
