What is the greatsword in Elden Ring?

This game offers various resources and one of the most important weapons here are the giant swords. This weapon moves very slowly but deals enough damage to make up for the lack of speed. While many weapons are inherently better than others, upgrading them allows players to choose their favorite weapon and use it throughout the game.

The Greatsword is a large sword, a fairly powerful weapon that players can obtain early in the game if they know where to look. While it may not be the best weapon in the game, it can be upgraded and can be a very viable option for most of the game in a strength-focused build. This weapon also bears a striking resemblance to the Sword of Courage from the famous Berserk manga.

How to find the greatsword in Elden Ring?

Great Sword is located in the eastern part of the map, in the Celid region. Although it appears very early in the game, players will have to wait and return to this area until they reach level 50-60. While this is usually the recommended level for the region, players can jump in and try it on any level with an additional difficulty level if they try it too early.

To find the Great Sword, take the northernmost path east towards Caelid. As you follow the main road and before reaching the Ruins of Caelid, you will come across a cart surrounded by dead soldiers and many monstrous dogs that will eat the soldiers. While the dogs are distracted by the dead soldiers, sneaking around is much easier if the player wants to avoid confrontation. The Great Sword is in a chest at the back of the carriage.

It should be noted that like most large weapons, players will have to get used to the slow movement speed of this weapon. Despite its speed, its high damage and stun will stun most small enemies long enough to perform another attack.

The greatsword offers high base damage and subsequently increases the player's stat buffs, making it an excellent weapon to introduce into Kalida to dominate early bosses.

This weapon's ability is Seal (Up Smash), which deals high damage and is capable of knocking back smaller enemies. These weapons are also a blank slate and can be customized to deal different types of damage, scale with new stats, equip new Ashes of War, or simply absorb elemental damage with consumables.
