Elden Ring Nightreign introduces
Sorcerer’s Rises, mysterious Mage Towers scattered across
Limveld with unique puzzles and valuable rewards. These towers are marked by a
tower icon on the map, but unlocking them isn’t always straightforward. Unlike other objectives, each Rise has its own
environmental puzzle or hidden mechanic, making them a thrilling challenge—especially during time-sensitive expeditions.
This guide will explain
all known methods to unlock Sorcerer’s Rises, what rewards await inside, and tips to optimize your exploration in
Elden Ring Nightreign.
Where to Find Sorcerer’s Rises in Elden Ring Nightreign
Sorcerer’s Rises appear randomly across
Limveld, and their entrances are usually
sealed by a magical barrier. A message will prompt you to
"Find the Crest", indicating that you must locate and destroy a
glowing blue sigil to break the seal.
While you can head straight to a Rise at the start of an expedition, it’s often better to
plan your route so that you pass by one while gathering
Flask charges or clearing nearby forts.
How to Unlock Mage Towers – All Methods
Each Sorcerer’s Rise has a
different unlocking method, and learning them will save you time in future runs. Here are all the
known ways to break the seal:
1. Crest Above the Door
- Check the top of the tower’s entrance.
- Double-jump onto the doorframe, then attack the crest.
- Alternatively, shoot it with a bow from below.
2. Hidden Imp Statue
- Look for an Imp Statue near the entrance (similar to Evergaol statues).
- Attack it to reveal a hidden crest, then destroy it.
3. Reflection in Water
- If no crest is visible, check nearby puddles.
- A faint blue reflection may appear—strike the spot to break the seal.
4. The Runaway Tree
- Spam the Lock-On button near trees—some may suddenly flee.
- Chase and attack the tree to reveal the crest.
5. Crest on the Outer Walls
- Some crests are invisible but embedded in the tower’s walls.
- Attack each side until the seal appears and breaks.
6. Hidden Wall Inside
- If the main door is open but the upper floor is sealed:
- Search the ground floor for a blank wall near a statue.
- Attack the wall to expose the crest.
7. Missing Torch Trick
- If the entrance is unsealed, check above the door for a missing torch.
- Climb up and interact to reveal the crest.
8. Second-Floor Secret
- If all else fails, go to the second floor and look behind you—the crest may be hidden there.
9. Walking Through the Sealed Door
- In rare cases, simply walking into the sealed door will unlock it.
What’s Inside a Sorcerer’s Rise?
Once you break the seal, climb to the top of the tower to find a reward chest. Possible loot includes:
- Powerful Talismans
- High-rarity Weapons & Armaments
- Sorcery Seals
- Other exclusive Nightreign items
These rewards can significantly boost your build, making Mage Towers worth the effort.
Pro Tips for Efficient Mage Tower Runs
- Always carry a bow—some crests are easier to hit from a distance.
- Listen for audio cues, like the sound of a fleeing tree.
- Use Lock-On frequently to detect hidden objects.
- Prioritize Rises near other objectives to save time.
Final Thoughts
Sorcerer’s Rises in Elden Ring Nightreign offer challenging puzzles and high-tier rewards, but their unlocking methods vary. By mastering these techniques, you can speed up your runs and claim powerful gear early.
