The Shadow Tower, also known as Enir-Ilim, stands towering over the Tower Settlement of Belurat, its silhouette menacing against the sky. From the start of the expansion, in the Gravesite Plain, its ghostly form can be seen, but a shadowy mist hides it from prying eyes.
To lift the shadow veil and access the secrets held within Enir-Ilim, it will be necessary to eliminate the Sealing Tree that holds it captive. This arduous task will require you to delve into the depths of danger and face powerful enemies.
An Arduous Path: Facing the Perils of Shadow of the Erdtree
Your journey to the Shadow Tower will begin at the top of the Sample Storehouse, where a fierce enemy awaits you: Messmer, the Impaler. After defeating him, you will obtain Messmer's Fire, a crucial tool to complete your quest.
The next step is to descend into the Sample Warehouse, where an elevator will transport you to the Ancient Ruins of Rauh. In this desolate place, you will face Romina, Saint of the Sprout, a formidable boss whose attacks inflict the dreaded scarlet rot. Make sure you are well equipped with Preserves or prepare the “Flame, Cleanse Me” enchantment to counteract its effects.
Upon emerging victorious from the battle against Romina, you will find yourself in front of the Sealing Tree. It is at this point that Messmer’s Fire comes into its own. Use it to incinerate the Sealing Tree, freeing the Shadow Tower from its prison of mist.
