How To Open Military Convoys in Dying Light The Beast

Scavenging for powerful gear is a core part of surviving the horrors of Dying Light. While you'll find plenty of supplies in abandoned buildings, some of the best loot is locked away in heavily armored military convoys scattered across the map. These vehicles are treasure troves of high-tier weapons, resources, and ammunition, but gaining access requires a specific strategy.
This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to crack open these mobile fortresses and claim their valuable rewards in The Following expansion.

Step 1: Locating the Military Convoy

Your first task is to find a convoy. These large, armored trucks are clearly marked on your map with a distinct vehicle icon. You can scout the countryside with your binoculars to spot them from a distance or simply stumble upon them during your explorations. Once you’ve found one, prepare for a fight.

Step 2: Finding the Convoy Access Card

The reinforced rear door of the convoy is locked tight. To open it, you must find a Convoy Access Card. This keycard is not lying around; it is carried by a special infected soldier, often referred to as a "military biter."

• The Keyholder: Look for a zombie wearing distinctive military-grade gear near the convoy. He is your primary target.
• A Note on Spawns: This key military biter does not always spawn immediately. If youarrive at a convoy and can’t find him, don’t waste your time. It’s often best to complete other nearby activities or quests and return later.The enemy will typically appear on a subsequent visit.
• Eliminate and Loot: Dispatch the military biter and be sure to search his body to claim the essential Access Card.

Pro Tip: Approach the convoy with caution. The area is often patrolled bytougher enemies like Virals or Goons. Clear the vicinity before focusing on the keycard zombie to avoid being overwhelmed.

Step 3: Looting the Convoy (Don't Miss the Hidden Compartments!)

With the Access Card in hand, you can now claim your prize.

Main Compartment: Use the card on the convoy’s large rear door. Inside, you’ll find themain haul, which almost always contains high-tier weapons, valuablecrafting parts, and other rare items. This is the primary reason forseeking out these convoys.

Side Storage Panels: Many players miss this second step! After clearing the maincompartment, check the sides of the vehicle, right above the largetires. You will find locked storage panels. Use a lockpick to open these for a bonus reward, which usually includes precious ammunition.
