The Secrets of Arrakis: Locating Moisture-Sealed Caves

Moisture-sealed caves are unique geological formations on Arrakis, often guarded by a protective seal that preserves precious resources and ancient secrets within. They are vital sources for specific crafting materials and other valuable items, making them key locations for progression and exploration.One of your first encounters with these unique locations will be during the main mission "Echoes of the Past," where you are specifically tasked with locating such a cave to gather Micro-sandwich Fabric and an EMF Generator.

Navigating to the Moisture-Sealed Cave for "Echoes of the Past"

This particular mission often trips up players due to a misleading map marker.

Understanding the Map Marker Confusion: Like many players, you might initially assume that the bright purple cave marker on your map is your destination. However, for this specific quest, that is NOT the correct cave.

Identifying the Correct Compass Marker: Instead of the purple map marker, you need to closely follow the direction of the light brown cave marker that appears on your compass (the top of your HUD). This distinct brown icon, representing a cave entrance, is the one you need to pursue.

Approaching the Cave: Follow this light brown compass marker. You might need to account for changes in elevation, as these caves can be tucked into cliffsides or depressions. The cave itself has a very distinct look, featuring a pronounced, often glowing or unusually textured seal that marks its entrance, differentiating it from regular rock formations.

Breaching the Seal: Once you approach the sealed entrance, you'll find an interaction prompt. Use your knife or dagger to pierce through the seal. This action will break the protective barrier, allowing you entry.

Exploring the Cave and Claiming Your Loot

Once inside, the cave often presents immediate challenges, including environmental hazards.

Navigating the Initial Fire Hazard: As you enter, you'll likely see a path engulfed in flames.

• If you're agile and equipped with a Shigawire Claw, you can use it to expertly avoid the fire by climbing the sides.
• Alternatively, the fire typically doesn't do significant damage, so you can often brave it and run through, making your way forward regardless of your gear.

First Loot Cache (Right Path): After entering, keep an eye out for a branching path or an immediate container on your right.

• Loot the water container and the chest located on the right side of the initial area.
• This chest is crucial for your mission and typically contains the following items:
  • 56x Solari
  • 3x EMF Generator (Quest Item!)
  • 4x Micro-sandwich Fabric (Quest Item!)
  • 3x Salvaged Metal

Exploring the Second Path for Additional Loot: After securing the first cache and completing the initial quest requirements, don't leave just yet!

• Make your way back towards the entrance of the cave, but instead of exiting, look for a path leading to the left.
• Yes, this path might also be engulfed in flames, but like before, you canbrave it or use your Shigawire Claw to bypass it. Don't worry, you'llmake it through.
• On the right side of this second path, you'll find another valuable container.
• This container often holds additional useful resources:
  • 113x Solari
  • 1x Literjon (Valuable water storage!)
  • 5x Micro-sandwich Fabric (More quest item if you need it, or for crafting!)

Mission Complete & Future Exploration

Once you've secured the items from both paths within the cave, you'll havesuccessfully completed the "Echoes of the Past" mission. At this point,you'll typically be instructed to return to your base.
