Near the end of Act 0 in DreadOut, players will go through a cemetery; at the very end of the graveyard, they'll see three blue candles. Fans need to light these candles to reveal the clues that will lead them to the next level of the puzzle. However, the Act 0 candle puzzle in DreadOut can be a bit tough for players, so this guide is here to assist those who are having trouble finding the right solution.

If a player needs a little push in the proper way, they might want to think about going backwards.

How to Solve Act 0 Candle Puzzle in DreadOut?




Get All Three Candles Going



Light all three candles in this Act 0 puzzle. That's the first step in solving it. Yes, survival horror game enthusiasts will notice that the first time they come across the problem, only one candle is lit. Here's how to fix it:


  • Make your way back through the cemetery. As the player gets closer to the finish line, two adversaries will spawn.
  • Separate yourself from those adversaries.
  • To capture an adversary in the act of distortion, pull out your camera and aim it at them.
  • Move to stay out of harm's way.
  • When you've defeated both foes, go back to Steps 3 and 4. After five photos, they all collapse.


Get a Good Shot of the Candles



Fans of horror games featuring female protagonists will be pleased to know that all three candles should be lit when they have defeated the two enemies in the graveyard. The flames on those candles will momentarily go out when you take a picture of them, so now you have to put out all three of them at once.


Players need to position themselves directly in front of the center candle to do this. The next step is for indie horror game fans to grab a camera and find a spot where they can get all three candles. Taking a picture from the right perspective, as shown in the image below, will reveal the secret behind the Act 0 candle and set off a little cinematic scene.
