You may find the Bottomless Pot in Edina, and obtaining it is the first step toward obtaining the Ultimate Key. Obtaining a Fading Jenny is necessary to bypass the security guard at the city's entrance. Upon entering, take a left turn and down the stairs to locate the boulder problem.
A Step-by-Step Guide to Edina's Boulder Puzzle
You need to progress each boulder onto one of the three back pressure plates in order to solve the puzzle. If any of these boulders fall into the water, you will lose them and have to start over.
- Grab the far left boulder and shift it upwards.
- Then, shift the center boulder right.
- To move the boulder on the far left across to the right so it aligns with the path leading ahead, circle around and push it onto one of the pressure plates.
- Head back down past the entrance and drop the boulder on the far right down a slot by pushing it downwards.
- Move the left-most boulder to its position just before the water by pushing it left. Go around the water and push the boulder to the right to get it onto the pressure plates. To solve the puzzle, head back to the entrance and do the same as before, moving the remaining boulder up one position before continuing to push it along the same path.
You'll find the Bottomless Pot in the room beyond the next one; this will give you access to a previously locked door that houses the Ultimate Key.
The Remake of Dragon Quest III: Where to Find the Final Key
You will see a new marker appear on your map once you obtain the Bottomless Pot in the northeastern sea. Throw the Bottomless Pot into the water, head to the marker, and interact with the exclamation point icon that appears. You'll find a number of sharp rocks protruding from the ocean. A cave will emerge from the water, which you can land in if you approach it and interact with it. Once you enter, you'll find the Ultimate Key in a single chest.
