The Vampire's Guide

Vampires are the best in Dragon Quest III: HD-2D Remake, and it's not just because they continuously grant a ton of stat boosts when you level up. Whether you'll notice a rise to strength, agility, resilience, wisdom, or luck more frequently than other stats depends on your personality, but leveling up gives Vamps huge bonuses to each stat!

How to Be a Vamp

However, a female protagonist is a must-have for anyone aspiring to a Vampire personality. Because this is determined at the beginning of the game, you will never be a vampire if you create a male character. After you've finished that, "She Who Watches Over All" will administer a personality test. Of the 49 possible questions, the two most crucial ones are "Do you hold anything precious?" and "Do you trip on a boulder and blame yourself?" If you respond "yes" to either of these questions, you'll be transported to a castle where you'll participate in a character scenario.

You are to descend the stairs of the castle and, facing the minister on the right side of the hall, respond affirmatively to his two inquiries. "She Who Watches Over All" will bestow the Vamp personality on you afterward, letting you level up at a considerably faster rate than other classes.

There are alternative ways to obtain the Vamp personality for your Hero if you were unable to gain it. To begin, by gifting Morgan Minimann five Mini Medals in Aliahan, you can momentarily alter your personality by donning the Garter accessory. You won't be able to obtain the five medals until you reach Romaria, but by then you should be able to quickly return to Aliahan using a Chimaera Wing or the Zoom spell to retrieve them.

Locate the Guns'n'Buns book if you'd like your personality transformation to last longer. There's just one, and you can't get your hands on it until you beat the superboss Xenlon in the postgame. If you're playing as a female character, you have two options for getting the best personality in the game for a normal playthrough: taking the personality survey at the beginning or equipping the Garter.
