How to get the Drowned weapon in Stalker 2

You can easily obtain a heavily upgraded AKM-74S assault weapon called the Drowned as soon as you arrive in the Slag Heap stalker camp in the Garbage zone. It's an aggressive early-game weapon that should see you through the missions that follow. If you're using a normal AKM-74S or Viper-5, it's worth picking up, even if it's not the strongest early game weapon in Stalker 2. Here, you'll find detailed instructions on how to obtain the Drowned in Stalker 2.
You should head south toward the camp when you are initially told to visit Slag Heap and speak with Diode in The Price Goes Up main quest. Crossing a concrete bridge just before the outer perimeter wall will bring you to an NPC named Boo. He'll be irate that you crossed the bridge because he lost his gun in the toxic pit below. He begs you for assistance since he just can't seem to figure it out on his own.
Make a pact with Boo to retrieve it on his behalf. The Drowned weapon, next to a wooden palette and a red barrel, is sitting on a concrete block below the surface of the water. Toss it into your collection by picking it up. You are free to retain the firearm rather than return it to Boo. It is nearly useless due to its extreme degradation; to have it fixed, go to the Slag Heap and see Technician Diode.
Taking the pistol for yourself has no long-term effects beyond disappointing Boo, but there is the heavy moral weight of taking another man's beloved weapon. Having said that, the Zone is notoriously cutthroat, so being nice usually backfires.
You may use 5.45×39 caliber ammo in the Drowned's 30 bullet magazine. Compared to other weapons you can get at this stage, its damage and penetration statistics are quite low, but its rate of fire and accuracy are superb.
