The Essential Item: How to Get the Thief's Key

You cannot open these special locks immediately. Your gateway to these secrets is the Thief's Key, a crucial story item you receive as you progress through the main quest.To find the Thief's Key, you must follow the King's guidance after visiting the Shrine of Rain. Your journey will lead you to the town of Galenholm, then onward to the perilous Craggy Cave. It is within this dungeon, after overcoming its challenges, that you will finally claim the Thief's Key. Once it's in your inventory, every red door and chest on the map becomes a new opportunity for riches and power.

A Tour of Treasure: Every Red Door & Chest Location

With the Thief's Key in hand, a world of new loot opens up. Here is a detailed breakdown of where to find every red door and chest, and what rewards you can claim.

Tantegel Castle Town

• Location: The building in the northeast corner.
• What's Inside: This structure has two red doors. Once inside, seek out the wizard and be sure to check the pot beside him for a Seed of Life, a permanent stat booster. Upstairs, you'll also find blue and greenchests—mark this spot to return to once you have the corresponding keyslater in your adventure.

Galenholm

• Location: The building at the northern edge of town.
• What's Inside: Beyond the red door, you'll find a dock. Loot the red chest on the right end to receive the Arriviste's Vest, a solid piece of armor for your journey. This area also contains a blue door and a path to the Grave a Galen, hiding a mini medal and theuseful Whistle scroll.

The Town of Kol

• Location: The building on the west side of town.
• What's Inside: A straightforward but valuable find. Inside, you can speak with a Royal Guard and, most importantly, loot a pot containing a Seed of Luck.

Cave of the Dwarves
This dungeon is a treasure hunter's delight, featuring multiple red doors and chests.

• First Red Door (Entrance Level): Head up and left from the entrance. The door leads to B2; search the barrels in the bottom-left corner to find an Oaken Club, a Ten Ton Toupee, and a Fur Vest. Follow the path to a chest containing an Ice Shield.
• Second Red Door (B1 Level): This door is essential for progressing deeper into the dungeon.
• Bonus Loot (B3 Level): After obtaining the Blue Key later on, return to B3. In the top-right corner, a blue door leads to a room with two red chests containing a Strength Ring and the powerful Tectonic Plate armor.

Citadel of the Monarch of Medals

• What's Inside: This late-game area houses two red chests. One contains a Phial of Sage's Elixir, and the other holds the invaluable Reheal scroll. Keep an eye out for the blue and green chests here as well.

Secret Desert Spot

• Location: Hidden within the winding desert that leads to the Weakened Isle.
• What's Inside: A single red chest awaits in this secluded area, rewarding your exploration with another powerful Strength Ring.
