Where to Find the Secret Key in Chapter 7 in DOOM The Dark Ages

In DOOM The Dark Ages, Chapter 7 ("The Siege Part II") presents a more compact level design compared to the open-ended Chapter 6. While progressing through the mission, you’ll naturally come across the Chapter 7 Secret Key—but grabbing it requires some clever maneuvering.
This guide will walk you through the Secret Key location, how to reach it, and what rewards await behind the two secret doors in this fiery hellscape.

Where to Find the Chapter 7 Secret Key

Midway through the level, you’ll enter a flame-engulfed courtyard filled with demonic enemies. After clearing the area, look up—the Secret Key floats above the center of the arena, just out of reach.

How to Reach the Secret Key

Proceed Normally – Follow the mission marker into the nearby building, eliminating all demons to unlock the upward path.

Ascend the Stairs – Continue upward until you reach the upper level of the courtyard.

Spot the Jump Pad – From the ledge, look right—the Secret Key is across from a Jump Pad.

Find the Hidden Path – Instead of following the mission marker left (toward armor pickups), turn right and use a Shield Charge to break through a weak wall.

Claim the Key – Inside this hidden area, you’ll find gold, a secret jump pad, and an invisible Imp (reveal it with your Saw Shield). Use the Jump Pad to launch toward the Secret Key.

1. Courtyard Secret Door

• Location: Opposite side of the courtyard (ground floor, beneath the Secret Key).
• Rewards:
  • Ruby (valuable pickup)

  • Shortcut back to the upper level

2. Staircase Secret Door

• Location: Right side of the stairs leading into the main building.
• Rewards:
  • Multiple gold drops
  • Codex Entry: "Siege Part II" (lore expansion)
