As with the previous Catalysts for the Barrow-Dyad, obtaining the Target Lock Catalyst requires uncovering some well-hidden secrets within The Nether activity before you can even start the quest. This guide will walk you through the necessary prerequisites and how to initiate the Target Lock Catalyst quest.

Destiny 2: The Target Lockl Catalyst For Barrow-Dyad

Catalyst Prerequisites: Acquiring Three Coalescence of the Knife

Before you can begin the "A Silken Path" quest for the Target Lock Catalyst, you must first acquire three Coalescence of the Knife consumables. These items do not appear in your inventory, making it crucial to track which ones you've obtained. There are three distinct sources for these:

Mission Dossier: Blade Logic Quest:

• This is a side quest that unlocks during the seasonal story.
• Visit the Shaping Slab in Eris Morn's apartment on the Moon to start the "Mission Dossier: Blade Logic" quest.
• Complete the main objective of the quest.
• Turning in the completed quest should reward you with one Coalescence of the Knife.

The Hull - Hidden Cabal Chest:

• Navigate to The Hull region within The Nether activity.
• Look for the Scarlet Keep-looking Hive pillars in the area.
• Walk towards the nearby Cabal flag.
• You should be able to scan a Toland Orb in this location.
  • Important Note: If the Toland Orb is not present, you might need to claim The Founts rune chest first (explained in the next point) or have already obtained Barrow-Dyad's other catalysts.
• Scan the Toland Orb.
• Run down to the floor below into a hidden Cabal bunker.
• Use the newly-scanned code to interact with a terminal and gain access to the chest inside.
• Opening this hidden Cabal chest will grant you one Coalescence of the Knife.

The Founts - Hidden Rune Chest:

• Head to The Founts region within The Nether activity.
• Locate the shifting piston near the middle of the room.
• From the piston, look towards the left side of the arena for a rune code displayed on the wall (three distinct Hive symbols).
• In the same room, behind where you saw the symbols, you'll find a wall of interactable Hive runes.
• Shoot the Hive runes on the wall to recreate the exact pattern you saw earlier. Successfully matching the pattern will spawn a hidden chest in the room. Loot this chest to receive one Coalescence of the Knife.
• Bonus Step: After grabbing the chest, turn around and shoot the single Hive rune on the pillar in the same room. This will open a secret maze nearby. Navigate this small maze and break the Taken Blight inside to receive your second Coalescence of the Knife from this location.

How To Get The Target Lock Catalyst Quest

Once you have successfully acquired all three Coalescence of the Knife consumables:

Go to The Hull Spawn Point: Load into The Nether activity and make your way to The Hull region's spawn point.

Find the Dormant Hive Machine: From the spawn point in The Hull, head to the opposite end of the area. You are looking for a side room containing a dormant Hive machine. This machine is similar in appearance to the ones you activate in The Mausoleum and Trenchway for other secrets.

Open the Portal: With all three Coalescence of the Knife in your possession (even though you can't see them in your inventory), you should now be able tointeract with the dormant Hive machine. Interacting with it will open aportal.

Start the Quest: Step through the portal and open the chest on the other side. This will initiate the "A Silken Path" Exotic quest, which is the quest for the Target Lock Catalyst.

Completing the "A Silken Path" Quest:

The final step to actually obtain the Target Lock Catalyst is straightforward:

• Complete the "Derealize" Exotic mission with the Barrow-Dyad equipped.
• You can complete the mission on normal difficulty.
• Crucially, you only need to have the Barrow-Dyad equipped at the very end of the mission to receive credit. You don't necessarily need to use it throughout the entire run.
• Once you successfully complete the "Derealize" mission with the Barrow-Dyadequipped at the end, the Target Lock Catalyst will be awarded to you.You can then head to The Enclave to forge it onto your Barrow-Dyad.
