How to change Alma's Outfits in Monster Hunter Wilds

With the release of Title Update 1 for Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom has introduced a highly requested feature: the ability to customize Alma’s outfits. While previous Monster Hunter games allowed players to personalize their hunters, Palicos, and even their trusty Seikrets, Alma—your steadfast handler—was left out of the fashion loop.
Now, players can finally tweak Alma’s appearance, adding a fresh layer of personality to their base camp experience. This guide covers everything you need to know about changing Alma’s outfits, including how to unlock them, where to access customization, and even a bonus feature that lets you alter her glasses.

How to Change Alma’s Outfit in Monster Hunter Wilds

Unlocking the Feature

Before you can modify Alma’s look, you must progress far enough in the story to unlock the Windward Plains during Chapter 1. Once this area becomes available, your tent will serve as the hub for all visual customizations—including Alma’s wardrobe.

Step-by-Step Guide to Changing Her Outfit

Enter Your Tent – Visit any base camp and interact with your tent.

Open the Camp Menu – Located in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

Navigate to the Appearance Menu – Scroll down until you see the tab labeled "Appearance Menu."

Select "Change Alma’s Outfit" – This option appears alongside other customization choices for your hunter and Palico.

Choose an Outfit – Browse the available options and confirm your selection.

Once applied, Alma’s new look will be visible immediately. She typically hangs around the camp or Grand Hub, making it easy to admire her updated style.

All Available Alma Outfits (So Far)

As of Title Update 1, there are three outfits for Alma, each offering a distinct aesthetic. Unfortunately, you cannot recolor or modify them further—what you see is what you get.

1. Handler’s Outfit (Default)

• Description: Alma’s standard attire, featuring her practical yet stylish handler gear.
• How to Get: Automatically equipped from the start of the game.

2. Scrivener’s Coat (Free DLC)

• Description: A scholarly outfit inspired by the historians and researchers of the Monster Hunter universe. It gives Alma a more refined, intellectual look.
• How to Get:
  • Visit your platform’s digital store (PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace, Steam, etc.).
  • Navigate to Monster Hunter Wilds’ additional content/DLC section.
  • Download "Alma Outfit: Scrivener’s Coat" (free with Title Update 1).
  • Once installed, it will appear in Alma’s customization menu.

This outfit was added as free DLC to celebrate Monster Hunter Wilds selling 10 million copies.

3. New World Commission (Paid DLC)

• Description: A nostalgic throwback to Alma’s Monster Hunter: World handler outfit, complete with her iconic scarf and layered armor.
• How to Get:
  • Purchase from the in-game store or your platform’s marketplace.
  • Once acquired, it becomes available in the Appearance Menu.

Bonus: Changing Alma’s Glasses

Outfits aren’t the only way to tweak Alma’s appearance—players can also swap her glasses, but only after completing a specific side quest.

How to Unlock Glasses Customization

Complete the Side Quest: Apple of Her Eye

• This quest involves helping a sleepy Wudwud named Ayejack.
• You’ll need to gather Eastern Honey and wait for the right season and time to progress.

Craft the Glasses at the Smithy

• After finishing the quest, two new headgear options become available:
  • Strategist’s Spectacles
  • Square Glasses

Equip Them via Alma’s Customization Menu

• Return to the Appearance Menu in your tent to toggle between glasses.

Final Thoughts

While Alma’s customization options are still limited compared to the hunter, this addition is a welcome step forward for personalization in Monster Hunter Wilds. Given that future updates may introduce more outfits (possibly even crossover DLC), it’s worth keeping an eye on new releases.
