How to Fix Delta Force Stuck at “Running” when launched?
A formal fix for players experiencing the "Running" launcher problem has not been officially addressed in the latest patches and updates for Delta Force. Standard Checks
The first and most basic procedure to eliminate any of the short-lived problems is restarting your computer. Once you have restarted, go to the Steam launcher, right-click on the game, and choose "Run as Administrator." This will grant you administrative rights to start the game. If you're having trouble launching or authenticating with the game, check that your internet connection is strong and reliable.
Update GPU Drivers to the Latest Version
Incompatible new games may be due to the use of an older GPU driver. For updated drivers, one may visit the websites of either NVIDIA or AMD for their graphics card model. Others who have had this problem reported that after an update from Nvidia, it worked fine. Note that your computer should restart to apply the update.
Removing the Launcher and Checking the Game Files
Sometimes, there is even no game launch when some of the launcher files become damaged. After you have identified and deleted the launcher within the Steam folder, you might want to use Steam's option "Verify Integrity of Game Files" just to make sure nothing is left behind. To access file verification, right click on the game in your Steam Library, select the Properties option, then click onto the Installed Files tab where.
Delete the "Saved" folder To bypass this issue, you can delete the temporary files and settings of the game that are stored in the "Saved" folder located in the game directory. Before proceeding, ensure that you have backed up the steamappscommonDelta ForceGameDeltaForceSaved folder. Once you have created a backup, delete the saved folder. Once you have cleared the folder, launch the game again. If this doesn't work either, you can try restarting, and once you open the deltaforce.exe process in Task Manager close it. Keep in mind this is not a practical way since you will have to go through the folder's deletion every single time you want to start the game and run recompile shaders.
Service AntiCheatExpert
An inappropriate configuration of the in-game Anti-Cheat mechanism should also be taken into account. The solution lies via the Windows Services menu :
- Launch Run using Windows + R. Type in services.msc into the Run window and press Enter.
- Go down the list to AntiCheatExpert Protection and Services.
- Right-click on each one, choose Properties, and change the startup type to Automatic.
- Restart your computer and then start the game again.
