How To Unlock Self-Driving Support APAS Enhancement

The Self-Driving Support APAS Enhancement is unlocked as you progress through the game and increase your Porter Grade. APAS Enhancements become available after you reach Australia, specifically when you're tasked with Order 9: Deliver the Chiral Contaminator to the Government's base. At this point, Charlie will inform you about the APAS Enhancements system, where you can allocate skill points across various skill trees (Porter, Combat, Stealth, Servicemanship, and Bridge Link).To unlock the Self-Driving Support enhancement itself, you'll likely need to invest in the Porter skill tree. As you complete orders, deliver lost cargo, and improve your connection levels with various facilities, you'll earn "memory" points for your APAS Enhancements. These memory points allow you to activate nodes within the skill trees. The Self-Driving Support node will be available once you have enough memory and have met any prerequisite nodes in the Porter tree. You can freely reset or reallocate your APAS enhancement points while in a region connected to the Chiral Network.

How To Activate Self-Drive in Death Stranding 2

Before attempting to activate self-drive, it's crucial to understandthe specific conditions required for it to work. The Self-DrivingSupport enhancement only functions on established roads.Furthermore, you need to drive the vehicle within the center of the road and maintain a consistent speed without triggering the boost.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to activate auto-drive:

Drive your vehicle onto a built road. Ensure you are on a completed section of the road network.

Position your vehicle at the center of the road. The auto-drive system works best when the vehicle is aligned with the road's central path.

Accelerate the vehicle and maintain a consistent speed without using the boost function. Avoid rapid acceleration or sudden braking.

As you meet these conditions, you will observe a flow of chevrons appearing on the vehicle's rear plate.

Once these chevrons fully charge, you will see the text "ASST. DRV. BOOT" appear on the rear plate, quickly followed by "ASST. DRV." This sequence indicates that assisted drive/auto-drive has been successfully activated.

An additional visual confirmation that self-driving is enabled is the "Auto-Camera" option popping up on your screen.

Once activated, simply release the accelerator, and your vehicle will take over, automatically navigating the connected road network to your destination.

Your vehicle will utilize the road's power supply, ensuring that its battery recharges as it drives, allowing for long-distance, hands-free travel,as long as the road is fully connected.
