The most reliable and consistent way to farm Ceramics in Death Stranding 2 is through the Smoke Hill Mine.

• Location: This mine is found northeast of The Government's Base in Australia. It's important to note that you typically unlock access to this mine by completing Sub Order 104: Restore Smoke Hill Mine. This sub-order usually becomes available after you connect the Western Environmental Observatory (Main Order 10).
• Operation: Once the Smoke Hill Mine is restored, it becomes an invaluable source. At this location, you can exchange Chiral Crystals for Ceramics. The conversion rate is highly favorable:
  • 800 Chiral Crystals = 960 Ceramics
• Why it's efficient: This method provides a large quantity of Ceramics in a single transaction, making it far more dependable than relying on random drops. Chiral Crystals are generally lighter and easier to collect in bulk (from defeated BTs or by exploring Timefall areas), making this trade-off highly efficient for stocking up on Ceramics.
• Other Ceramic Mine: There is another large ceramic mine located north of Tar Lake, which becomes accessible further into the game, typically by going up the hill past the Northern Environmental Observatory.

Other Ways to Farm Ceramics in Death Stranding 2

While the Smoke Hill Mine is the most efficient primary source, there areother valuable ways to collect Ceramics as you explore:

Raid MULE and Brigand Camps:

• MULE and Brigand camps scattered across the map are excellent sources of various crafting materials, including Ceramics.
• When scanning these camps with your Odradek, look for Large (L) or XL (Extra Large) containers specifically labeled with Ceramics.
• A successful raid on these camps can typically net you anywhere from 300 to 400 units of Ceramics per camp.
• Tip: MULE and Brigand camps restock their materials (and enemies) after afew in-game hours or days, making them a repeatable source. Considerclearing them out regularly.

Loot Defeated Enemies:

• Individual MULEs and Brigands sometimes carry Ceramics as personal cargo.
• After defeating a group of enemies (non-lethally is recommended for respawn purposes), use your scanner to check their personal cargo.
• These personal containers can hold a decent amount of Ceramics, often over 70 units per enemy. While not a massive haul on its own, it adds upsignificantly over time, especially if you frequently encounter andengage with these enemies during your deliveries.

Standard Orders and Aid Requests:

• Standard Orders that involve delivering Ceramics (or often, general materials) tovarious facilities or Preppers can reward you with a significant amountof Ceramics upon completion, or add them to the receiving facility'sstock that you can claim. Look for orders originating from or ending atfacilities known for having ceramic stock.
• Aid Requests from other players might also ask for Ceramics for structures orrepairs, and fulfilling these will provide Likes and potentiallycontribute to your own stock if you bring excess.

Recycling Unwanted Cargo/Gear:

• Any "used" items (marked with [Used]) in your inventory or locker can be recycled at a terminal in a facility. This process yields various materials, including Ceramics, depending on the item recycled. This is a good way to convert unwanted gear into useful resources.
• You can also recycle any standard cargo you don't need, converting it into raw materials.

Claiming Materials from Facilities:

• As you raise your connection levels with various facilities and Preppers, they will accumulate larger stockpiles of resources. You can visit terminals at these locations and use the "Claim Materials"option to draw Ceramics (and other resources) from their inventory intoyour own cargo or private locker.
