This is a general game perk, which was initially released with the Roots of Dread chapter update. Being a general perk it can be mixed and matched with any Killers you want. So knowing how the shattered hope works, will be useful to be able to take advantage of it.
How shattered hope works in Dead by Daylight?
Shattered Hope, will allow you to destroy the Boon totems instead of turning them off, this will allow you to access the auras of all Survivors in range for between 6 and 8 seconds, depending on how much you have leveled it. It is also an excellent way to prevent the survivors from using the totems against you.
If the survivors don't have a boon to use during the encounter, you're basically losing a profit slot, but the threat of Shattered Hope will be useful if you find that the Killer doesn't do too well when the group of Survivors uses them to try to stay alive after an escape.
Just keep in mind that the objective you need to focus on is preventing the Survivors from taking over the generators.
