How to Find The Carousel in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

The Carousel is a unique, secluded spot on The Continent that becomes accessible during Act 2 of the story. To reach it, you must first gain access to Monoco’s Station, a key location that opens up new pathways for exploration.
After completing the initial story events at Monoco’s Station—including recruiting a new party member with unique abilities—you’ll unlock three different routes leading to other major areas. To find The Carousel:

Take the east exit out of Monoco’s Station.

Traverse the icy fields northeast, sticking close to the left cliffside.

Eventually, you’ll spot what appears to be a partially buried carousel in the snow.

Approach it, and you’ll see the prompt to enter The Carousel.

Additional Nearby Discovery: Frozen Hearts

While searching for The Carousel, you might also stumble upon the entrance to Frozen Hearts, a dangerous area where the Eternal Ice key item is located. Be warned—this zone is home to formidable enemies, so ensure your party is well-leveled and equipped before venturing inside.

How to Fix The Carousel for Grandis

Once inside The Carousel area, you’ll notice a few points of interest:

• An Expedition Flag where you can rest and save your progress.
• Le Grand Café de Lumière music record, hidden in the alley to the left.
• A Grandis NPC standing near a frozen carousel.

Speaking to the Grandis reveals their wish: they long to see the carousel spin again, just as it did before the Fracture—a cataclysmic event that changed the world. They task you with freeing the carousel from the ice.

Two Methods to Fix the Carousel

1. Using Paint Break (Longer Method)

• Rescue at least 4 of the 9 Lost Gestrals scattered across The Continent.
• Return to Sastro in Gestral Village to unlock the Paint Break ability.
• This skill can destroy blue paint spikes found in various locations—and, crucially, the large ice formations encasing the carousel.

2. Using Strike Ability (Faster Method)

• Simply use your Strike ability (the same one used for First Strikes in combat) on the icicles covering the carousel.
• Destroying all the ice formations will restart the carousel, causing it to spin and play music.

Reward: The French Bob Haircut (Maelle)

After fixing the carousel, return to the Grandis. Moved by the sight of the spinning ride, they recall a young girl from the past, remembered only by her hair. As a token of gratitude, they gift you the French Bob Haircut (Maelle), a cosmetic reward.
