One of the most rewarding quests in Oblivion Remastered is Stendarr’s Mercy, part of the Knights of the Nine DLC. Here’s how to complete it and obtain the Gauntlets of the Crusader.

Starting the Quest

Acquire the Cuirass of the Crusader during the Priory of the Nine quest.

Speak to Sir Casimir, who will reveal the story of the Gauntlets and their location.

Travel to the Chapel of Stendarr near Chorrol.

Encountering Kellen the Cursed

Upon arriving, you’ll meet Kellen, a knight suffering from a terrible curse. He explains that theGauntlets are nearby, but only a truly worthy individual can retrievethem.

Lifting the Curse

Talk to Areldur, the priest in the chapel. Initially, he will seem hesitant.

Return to Kellen, who suggests Areldur knows more than he admits.

Confront Areldur again, and he will confess that the curse can be transferred—but at a cost.

Interact with the Altar of the Nine and take the curse upon yourself.

• You will receive the "Lay Hands" spell.

Use the spell on Kellen to cure him.

Now that you have proven your worth, Stendarr allows you to take the Gauntlets of the Crusader.

The Consequences of the Curse

While cursed, you will collapse whenever your Fatigue or Stamina reaches zero. The only way to remove the curse is by completing the Knights of the Nine questline and collecting all Crusader relics.
