Discover essential tips on finding relics in Civilization 7. Unlock powerful bonuses
Relics are crucial artifacts in Civilization 7, particularly for those pursuing a Cultural victory through the Cultural Legacy Path. This guide explains how to find, acquire, and utilize relics to achieve the Golden Age and progress along this path.
Civilization 7: How to find relics
Relics and the Cultural Legacy Path:
Relics play a key role in the Exploration Age's Golden Age condition, "Toshakhana." To achieve this Golden Age, you must display 12 relics within your empire.1 The milestones on this Legacy Path are tied to relic collection and display.
Acquiring Relics through Religious Conversion:
Temple and Missionary: After constructing a Temple in a city, you can train or purchase Missionary units. These units can spread your religion to other settlements, regardless of whether they have an existing religion or follow a different one. Conversion Process: Move a Missionary into a target settlement and use the "Spread Religion" action (dove icon) twice on specific tiles: the urbanized district and a rural district (farm, mine, clay pit, etc.). If the settlement has no existing religion, you only need to use the action once. Reliquary Beliefs: Upon founding a religion, choosing the right Reliquary Belief is paramount for relic acquisition. "Icons" is the most efficient choice: - Icons: +2 relics for the first-time conversion of a city-state.
Other viable options include: - Evangelism: +1 relic for the first-time conversion of another civilization's settlement in distant lands (not a city-state).
- Ecclesiasticism: +1 relic for the first-time conversion of another civilization's settlement with a population of 10 or more in urban districts.
- Lay Followers: +1 relic for the first-time conversion of another civilization's settlement with a population of 10 or more in rural districts.
- Reliquaries: +1 relic for the first-time conversion of another civilization's settlement with a Temple or Altar.
You'll receive relics based on your chosen belief when you successfully convert a settlement.
Alternative Relic Sources:
- Goody Huts: Discovering Goody Huts during exploration can sometimes yield relics.
- Narrative Decisions: Certain choices in the game's campaign can reward you with relics.
- Civic Research: Researching specific civics also grants relics:
- Imperialism Mastery
- Society Mastery
- Social Class Mastery
- Sovereignty Mastery
Displaying Relics:
Simply possessing relics is not enough. You must display them in specific structures to progress in the Cultural Legacy Path. These structures have relic slots:
- Temple
- Palace
- House of Wisdom Wonder
- Hale o Keawe Wonder
Placing relics in these slots showcases them and contributes to your Cultural Legacy progress.
Cultural Legacy Milestones ( связаны с количеством отображенных реликвий):
- Study a Piety Civic, build a temple, and establish a religion.
- Train a missionary or any adjacent unit and convert any foreign settlement to your religion.
- Study the Theology Civic and establish an enhancer belief.

Key Strategies for Relic Acquisition:
- Prioritize City-State Conversions: The "Icons" belief makes converting city-states the most efficient way to acquire relics early on.
- Strategic Missionary Placement: Position your Missionaries strategically to maximize conversions and relic gains.
- Explore and Investigate: Explore the map thoroughly to find Goody Huts and potential relic rewards.
- Civic Planning: Plan your civic research to acquire relics from the listed civics.
