What Are Yields?
As your civilization grows from the dawn of man to a near-futuristic society, you'll earn yields, which are resources that contribute to the welfare of your civ, from your research endeavors to your citizens' happiness. Any of the above can boost your yield across your empire simply by adding them to your city or town. Here are some examples of ways to add to certain yields:

How to Improve Your Yields
Once you've constructed buildings, implemented social policies, or generated a yield through other means, there are additional methods you can use to improve your base yields. Maximizing your yields is imperative for achieving victory. As you run out of turns, having high development times for buildings or research can prove costly.
Improvement Strategies
- Town Focus
- Helps boost yields in towns and cities by increasing production.
- Excess production is converted into gold, which can be used for other units and features.
- Use Adjacency Bonuses
- Certain buildings and improvements have adjacency bonuses. Maximize these to double or triple your yield from that specific tile.
- Add Specialists
- Specialists can boost tile yields. Each tile can have up to two specialists, earned through population growth.
- Unique Quarters
- Formed by constructing two civ-specific buildings on the same tile.
- Stacking Social Policies
- Social policies can increase yields by percentage points. When you unlock new policy slots, check to see if there are any available that can improve a certain yield across your civ.
- Overbuilding
- As ages progress, buildings lose bonuses. Overbuilding can regain these bonuses on improved tiles each time you gain a population in your city.
Certain social policies or effects might increase your civ's happiness, culture, or science if you gain access to luxury resources via trading. For example, the policy Trade Windsearns you gold and happiness for every imported resource.
