How to add and join friends in Brighter Shores

When you initially launch Brighter Shores, you will not be able to access the social features. Unlike other massively multiplayer online games (MMOs), this one makes you go through the tutorial and early stages alone before granting you the ability to level up with others.

The first stage is straightforward and won't take long to finish; it takes place on your first day as a guard, and you'll learn the ropes, including who's boss, how to use your weapon, and how to tap into your magical abilities. Find a fellow Guard's bow and other easy introductory quests to gain a feel for the movement style and game architecture. Basic combat, potion making, and the teleportation system will also be covered. This tutorial level is well-organized and prepares you for the first part of Brighter Shores.

The game will notify you that you can now meet other players in-game after you reach a certain level of progress, as illustrated above, with a Privacy Settings pop-up. To access your privacy settings, click this. When prompted, provide your date of birth.

Doing so will allow you to control who can see your character's name, friend request you, and message you.

Don't stress too much if you choose to play solo and then change your mind because you can change these settings whenever you want. To save your changes at any time, just go to the Privacy Settings tab, select the boxes you want to use, and hit the "Save" button.

Furthermore, you may now access the community tab in the lower right area of your screen. The location where emotes reside is denoted by an icon with two gray figures, which may be found beneath the yellow hand icon.

Access your current friend list, browse your inbox, review messages sent, and welcome people to Brighter Shores from this page.

You must use the complete name, including the #prefix, to invite friends via name unless they have a Premium Pass. Since Premium names are unique and cannot be reproduced, they do not have a # in the names of players who have purchased the Premium Pass.

In the community tab, you'll see a Nearby Players section where you can send friend requests. If you're in the Town Square, for instance, you can see how many other players are in the area and view their characters or even block them if you need to.

Once you add a buddy, you can join them in-game and collaborate on tasks by going to their server through the community option. The chat window at the very bottom of the main page also gives you the option to send them a direct message.

Since Brighter Shores does not yet feature a guild or clan structure, you are unlikely to quickly reach the maximum of 200 pals.

This game is great on its own, but it really comes to life when you bring friends and tackle bosses together. Having a companion or two to converse with always makes massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) like Brighter Shores feel more alive.
