How to Complete Electroshock Therapy Quest in Borderlands 4
This guide provides a complete, step-by-step walkthrough to help you navigate this hilarious and rewarding mission, ensuring you earn that precious XP and loot without a hitch.
1. Starting the Quest: Finding Professor Ambreleigh
Your first task is to locate the quest giver, the surprisingly articulate Professor Ambreleigh. You can find this unique Ripper with a scientific bent just to the east of the Someday Rise Safehouse in the initial zones of Kairos.
Ambreleigh will explain her groundbreaking (and highly questionable) theory for curing Ripper psychosis through advanced electroconvulsive therapy. She needs a capable Vault Hunter to venture out and gather the rare components required to power her experimental machine.
2. Gathering the Components: Ordonite & Eridium Samples
This fetch quest becomes slightly tricky due to the game’s unmarked locations. Here’s exactly where you need to go.
- Ordonite Sample Location: Head directly to the Order compound situated across from the professor's lab. Be prepared to clear out the fanatical Order soldiers guarding the area. Once the coast is clear, look for two large silos connected by prominent yellow pipes. The glowing Ordonite sample will be sitting on a stack of crates nestled between these pipes.
- Eridium Sample Location: This objective is a bit further out. Follow your map marker to a ripper-infested agricultural area. Eliminate the hostile enemies, then scan the environment for a large, purple Eridium crystal formation. It will be growing directly on top of a rusted farming machine near the crop rows. Simply shoot the crystal to collect the sample. Note: This is a quest item only and will not be added to your personal Eridium currency count.
3. The Missing Piece: Hunting the Meathead
Return to Professor Ambreleigh and install the two samples into her device.Just as you’re about to power it up, she’ll stop you, realizing a vitalcomponent is missing: a live subject.
Conveniently, a hulking Meathead will spawn right outside near a derelict bar. Engage this powerfulenemy, using cover and aiming for its critical points to bring it downefficiently. Once defeated, interact with its remains to claim theMeathead’s head.
4. Completing the Machine and Claiming Your Reward
Bring the head back to the lab and attach it to the machine. The creature'shead will immediately spring to life, ranting and raving. To proceed,you must follow Ambreleigh’s final instruction: deliver a sharp melee attack to the head to shut it up and calibrate the device.
Stand back and watch the show as the professor activates her invention,resulting in a spectacular and darkly comedic display of "therapy." Once the chaos subsits, speak with Ambreleigh to formally complete the quest and receive your well-earned reward, which typically includesexperience, cash, and often a unique piece of gear.
