How to Mute Claptrap in Borderlands 4

For better or for worse, Claptrap has returned in Borderlands 4. The one-wheeled robot is a love-him-or-hate-him character, and for many players, his loud, enthusiastic, and often-annoying antics are a constant source of frustration. Despite being a nuisance, he's also a surprisingly lovable part of the franchise's identity. However, for those who find his incessant chatter too much to bear, Gearbox Software has provided a perfect solution that doesn't require any mods or external tools.Borderlands 4 includes a special audio setting that allows players to take full control of Claptrap's volume, a feature that has been highly anticipated and celebrated by the community.

How to Mute (or Unmute) Claptrap in Borderlands 4

The process is remarkably simple. All you need to do is navigate to the game's audio settings.

• Open the Options Menu: From the main menu or in-game, go to the "Options" menu.
• Select Advanced Audio Settings: Within the Options, look for the "Audio" tab and then find "Advanced Audio Settings."
• Find the "Claptrap?" Tab: Scroll to the very bottom of the advanced audio settings. You will find a dedicated volume slider with the simple, self-aware title: "Claptrap?"
• Adjust the Volume: From here, you can adjust Claptrap's volume level to your liking. You can keep him at his default volume, lower it just enough to make himless intrusive, or, for the ultimate peace and quiet, slide the bar allthe way to zero.

Sliding the volume to zero will completely silence him. While he will stillappear in the game world and his side missions will remain available,you won't be able to hear a single word he says unless you havesubtitles enabled. For many Vault Hunters, this is a much-needed feature that allows them to enjoy the game's humor without the constantshouting.
