How to unlock the Ray Gun Mark 2-R variant in BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil

Ready to transform your Ray Gun Mark 2 into a precise and deadly marksman rifle? In the Shattered Veil map of Black Ops 6 Zombies, you have the opportunity to craft the powerful Ray Gun Mark 2-R variant. This guide will walk you through every step of this upgrade process, from finding the initial components to defending the growing plants and finally claiming your long-range Wonder Weapon.

BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil: the Ray Gun Mark 2-R variant

Step 1: Acquire the Base Ray Gun Mark 2 and an Empty Canister

Your journey to the Ray Gun Mark 2-R begins by obtaining the base version of the Ray Gun Mark 2. As mentioned in the guide, you'll typically discover the Floppy Disk around Round 10, which will lead you to the Severed Arm, ultimately rewarding you with the standard Ray Gun Mark 2. Alternatively, if luck is on your side, you might snag the base weapon directly from the Mystery Box, allowing you to skip the initial steps.Once you have the base Ray Gun Mark 2, your next immediate task is to grab an Empty Canister. These can be obtained through several methods:

• Shooting Blue Rocks: Look for interactable blue crystalline formations scattered around the map and shoot them.
• Interacting with Pipes in the Mainframe Chamber: Locate specific sets of pipes within the Mainframe Chamber and interact with them (throwing a Tomahawk might be required for some).
• Using the LT53 Kazimir Tactical: The LT53 Kazimir Tactical grenade, often found in the Service Tunnel near the Double Tap perk machine, can also yield an Empty Canister upon use.

Step 2: Locating the Four Shattered Veil Plant Seeds

With the Ray Gun Mark 2 and an Empty Canister in your possession, your next crucial objective is to find four Plant Seeds. These seeds are located at various potential spawn points across theShattered Veil map. You will need to shoot these seeds with either the base version of the Ray Gun Mark 2 (without Pack-a-Punch) or with an explosive weapon (like a grenade). Regular firearms will not cause the seeds to react.

Here are the known potential spawn locations for the four Plant Seeds in Shattered Veil:

• Shem's Henge Location: Near the Speed Cola perk machine, look for a plant somewhat hidden by a bush. It shouldhave a distinct glow, making it noticeable upon closer inspection.
• Garden Pond Location (Stairs): Head to the Conservatory area to reach the Garden Pond. Look for a set of stairs leading up. One of the plants can be found next to the Dark Aether Field Generator in this vicinity.
• Garden Pond Location 2 (Corner Structure): Another potential plant spawn in the Garden Pond area is in the corner of a small structure, located below the stairs mentioned in the previous location.
• Motor Court Location (Left of Mansion Entrance): Look to the left of the mansion's main entrance. You might find one of the plants growing next to some fire.
• Motor Court Location 2 (Near Burning House): Another potential spawn in the Motor Court is near the burning house, specifically in the bottom right corner of this area.
• West Balcony Location: Explore the West Balcony area and look for a plant that might spawn near the large tree situated there.
• South West Balcony Location: On the South West Balcony, look to the left of one of the map's interactable items. A plant could be resting on the balcony in this southwestern section of the map.
• Rear Patio Location: The plant on the Rear Patio can be the trickiest to spot as it's often tucked away in a bush. Go to the Double Tap perk machine and check the corner of the area to see if the plant has spawned there.

Important Note on the Fourth Plant Not Spawning (Potential Bug): As highlighted in the original guide, there is a known bug that canprevent the fourth plant seed from spawning. If you encounter thisissue, the suggested workaround is to save your game and quit to the main menu, then reload your save. Repeating this process a couple of times has reportedly helped playerstrigger the spawn of the missing fourth plant seed. Keep trying this ifyou are stuck on three seeds.

Step 3: Planting and Protecting the Seeds in the Conservatory

Once you have successfully collected all four Plant Seeds, your next destination is the Conservatory. Inside the Conservatory building, you will find four distinct planters. You will also need to locate the device where you will later place the Empty Canister (if you haven't already).

Follow these steps within the Conservatory:

Place the Empty Canister: Locate the designated device within the Conservatory and place the Empty Canister into it.

Interact with the Planters: Approach each of the four planters one by one and interact with a Plant Seed in your inventory to plant it.

Protect the Growing Plants: After planting each seed, you will need to protect it from attacking zombies. You must wait until each seed is fully grown, indicated by a progress bar that will increase over time. It's recommended to stand directly infront of the planter and prioritize eliminating zombies with glowing purple eyes, as they are more likely to damage the plants.

Damaged Planters: If a planter takes damage, the Plant Seed in front of it will become interactable again. Pick up the Plant Seed. You will likely need to trigger the next round before you can interact with the damaged planter and replant the seed.

The Four Planter Locations in the Conservatory:

• Planter Location 1: Look straight across from the device where you placed the Empty Canister to find the first planter.
• Planter Location 2: While at the first planter's location, go to the opposite side of the room to find the second planter.
• Planter Location 3: Head downstairs in the Conservatory and then travel outside towards the Quick Revive perk machine. The third planter will be located at the back of the building in this area.
• Planter Location 4: The final planter is located inside the building across from Quick Revive, near one of the Blue Rocks.

Step 4: Claiming the Toxic Canister and Crafting the Ray Gun Mark 2-R

Once you have successfully guarded all four plants until they are fully grown, a Toxic Canister will become available at the device where you initially placed the Empty Canister in the Conservatory.

Return to the Device: Go back to the device and claim the Toxic Canister.

Head to the Workbench: Your final destination is the workbench located at the Garden Pond (which is near the initial spawn area of the map).

Craft the Ray Gun Mark 2-R: Approach the workbench at the Garden Pond and interact with it. Youshould now have the Toxic Canister and the base Ray Gun Mark 2, allowing you to craft the Ray Gun Mark 2-R upgrade.

The crafting process will take a few moments, so be prepared to fend offany nearby zombies. Once the progress bar is complete, the Ray Gun Mark 2 in your inventory will be transformed into the Ray Gun Mark 2-R. Thisvariant is known for its increased accuracy and range, effectivelyturning the Wonder Weapon into a deadly marksman rifle.

You can now test out your new upgrade and utilize it to progress further in the BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil Main Quest. Remember that to conquer the map's Easter Egg fully, you will also need to acquire the 2-W and 2-Pvariants of the Ray Gun Mark 2.

Ray Gun Mark 2-R Crafting Checklist:

• [ ] Get an Empty Canister
• [ ] Collect four Plant Seeds (Shem's Henge, Garden Pond x2, Motor Courtx2, West Balcony, South West Balcony, Rear Patio - remember thepotential bug with the fourth seed!)
