Your journey begins in the Verdant Wilds area of Qinghe. Look for the quest marker on your map and make your way to that location. There, you will encounter an NPC named Lie Bujin. Speaking with him will officially start the "Echoes of Old Battles" side story, pointing you toward the old castle ruins.Upon entering the ruins, you'll overhear a group of bandits conspiring near some explosive barrels. Use your eavesdropping skills to gather intelligence, then cleverly dispatch them by shooting a fire arrow into the barrels. After clearing this initial threat, press forward to face more bandits and a boss fight against their leader, Zhang Bao, who is interrogating a captive. Defeat Zhang Bao and be sure to loot the chest in the training ground area, as it contains a crucial puzzle map detailing the locations of the fire contraptions you need to activate next.

Step-by-Step: Solving the Fire Contraption Puzzle

The puzzle map reveals four distinct fire contraptions scattered around the castle grounds. They can be lit in any order, but finding them all is the key to progression.

Training Ground Brazier: The first contraption is located in the same training ground where you defeated the bandit leader, Zhang Bao.

Upper Wall Brazier: For the second, return to the main entrance of the ruined castle. Facethe entrance, then turn left and ascend the staircase. Make a daringjump onto the crumbling wall and climb upwards; you'll find this brazier already lit.

Path's End Brazier: Continue along the path of the crumbled wall. At the very end, you'llspot the third contraption. You may need to use side platforms to reachthe top and ignite it.

Eastern Platform Brazier: The final contraption is located on a lower platform to the east. Youcan reach it by a precise jump and climb or by dropping down andfighting through another group of enemies to ascend from below. Crucial Tip: Ignore any lower braziers near enemies; the correct one is on a higher platform.

Once all four fire contraptions are lit, return to the training ground. Anew pressure plate will have appeared. Perform a Mighty Drop onto it toreveal the entrance to a hidden underground chamber.

Right Wall: Approach the wall on your right. You need to push two specific blocks here:

Left Wall: Now, turn to the wall on your left. You only need to push a single block:

• The block marked with the character 漂 (Piāo - meaning "Drift" or "Float").
