How to Get Fish Oil in Warframe?

Fishing in the Plains of Eidolon: The main way to get Fish Oil is by fishing for fish in the Plains of Eidolon. Any fish you catch in this area can be skinned for Fish Oil, but some are more profitable than others.

Best Fish to Fish for Fish Oil

Murkray: This fish is found in ocean hotspots and can be caught using Murkray bait (which can be purchased from Fisher Hai-Luk). Murkray give 7, 8, or 9 Fish Oil per fish, depending on their size.
Cobras: These fish are found at lake hotspots and can be caught using Cobra Bait (which can also be purchased from Fisher Hai-Luk). Cobras give 5 Fish Oil per fish.

Tips for efficient fishing

Use the Lanzo rod for more catches per cast.
Use the right bait for the type of fish you're looking for.
Cast your line at fishing spots with abundant fish.
Use fishing modes to increase your chances of catching big fish.

Skinning Fish for Fish Oil

Bring the fish you catch to Fisher Hai-Luk in the Plains of Eidolon.
Select the "Cut Fish" dialogue option.
Hai-Luk will skin the fish and give you Fish Oil, as well as other resources.

What is Fish Oil used for in Warframe?

Fish Oil is used in crafting several items, including:

Zaws and Amps Cuffs and Braces: Most Zaws and Amps cuffs and bracers require Fish Oil as a component.
Twilight Lure: This lure is used to catch rare fish in the Plains of Eidolon.
Grendel Systems: This component is required to build the Grendel Warframe.
Archwing Launcher: This weapon requires Fish Oil as part of its crafting recipe.

In total, you'll need 660 units of Fish Oil to build one of each item that requires it. If you plan on building multiple Zaws, Amps, or Twilight Lures, you're in for a fair amount of fishing!

Tips

If you need Fish Oil quickly, you can buy it from other players in trading.
You can join a fishing group to get more fish, and therefore more Fish Oil per hour.
Do Cetus Bounties quests that reward Fish Oil as a reward.
