Few Twitch users really know how to emote, and if we think about it, there are probably very few who do, so today we will teach you.

What is Twitch?

It is a platform that allows live broadcasts owned by Amazon, Inc. and that was released on June 6, 2011. The platform has become one of the most popular when it comes to live broadcasting of video games.

Nowadays, emojis have become an important part of any conversation or digital chat, which is why these characters are present in almost all messaging platforms, browsers, games and websites. On this platform they are known much more by the name of emoticons and in this guide we will tell you how to emote.

But before telling you how to emote, the first thing you should know are the types of gestures of the platform.

Emote types in Twitch

The types of emotes within the platform are divided into two, those of the streamer and those of the audience, that is, both parties have their own set of gestures. On the platform we will have access to Global Emotes, which are completely free to use.

But there are also Channel Emotes, which you can use by subscribing to any channel from a content creator. The streamer who is affiliated with the Steam portal unlocks the channel emoticons for users who subscribe to their channel.

With this in mind, it is time to know how to emote in Twitch.

How to emote in Twitch?

In live broadcasts, it is suddenly possible to see some animated emotes in various patterns.

When someone pays a donation for live-streaming as a token of appreciation, some gestures come up due to the plugins.

To emote you can select the emoticon directly and use it, and you can also combine letters and symbols that are case-sensitive to create the gestures.

To make personalized gestures manually you will have to have a verified profile within the platform or your channel is a Twitch partner. You will also need the proper editing skills and meet the following requirements:

Use PNG format for emotes.

Meet any of the following pixel sizes: 28 X 28, 56 X 56, 112 X 112.

Limit the size of the emoticon file to 20 kb.

Not denote any violent act or something obscene.

You can use tools like Photoshop to create your emotes as long as you have at least the basic knowledge to use it.

To use your created gestures you will have to log in to the platform> select your profile photo> Creator Dashboard> Stream Manager> Affiliate / Partner> Emotes> Upload gestures> select the to find and add the emoticon that you created in the previous section> Set a name for your gesture> Save changes.

Thus ends our guide on how to emote in Twitch, we hope it has been as useful as possible and you can get the most out of it by using and making gestures on the transmission platform regardless of whether you are a streamer or audience.
