In this guide post we explain everything you need to know about How to make cheese in Travelers Rest.

Travellers Rest lets you serve your customers a wide array of foods, all made with different ingredients. For really wringing out a profit, you will be aiming to have the most varied menu possible, staying right up to date on trends regarding both foods and their ingredients. That, of course, means you need to collect the most amounts of ingredients possible. Take cheese, for example. While it fetches a good price on its own, it becomes indispensable in all sorts of recipes, from Brie and Bean Rolls to Quiche. Not to mention that it just might be the next hot ingredient. So, to ensure your tavern is nice and full of cheese, you'll have to sink some cash into a Cheesery

How To Get A Cheesery in Travellers Rest?

First off, to begin cheese creation you'll need a cheesery: a specific food prep machine available once you hit reputation level ten. The morning following this achievement, you will receive a letter from Amon detailing cheese creation and mentioning that Cheeseries are now stocked in his shop. Go to his tavern, the first left as you enter the city, and ask to shop.

All the way at the bottom of his shop menu is the Cheesery, which is two gold and 70 silver. Buy this and take it back to your tavern, then place it in the kitchen or another crafting area.

How To Make Cheese in Travellers Rest?

Before you get to cheesemaking, you're going to need a couple of items in the first place, especially curds. Depending on the type of cheese that you're going to prepare, you may also need lemon juice, kitchen yeast, or cheese starter. You can make curds at any Food Prep Table using at least one type of milk, which takes 40 in-game minutes. Milk can either be obtained from your farm animals in a barn or purchased bi-weekly from Holly's shop at Harvest Hill Farm, available every day except Saturday and Sunday.

Once you have curds, hop on over to the Cheesery and use it normally. You will have a couple of cheese options by default, but more will open up as you unlock recipes. Nearly all cheese types require three in-game hours to produce. Afterwards, there's one final step required before the cheese is edible or can be used in recipes: aging. Unlike alcohol, that ages in batches, only two cheese age per pile per day. The good news is that cheese only has one aging stage.

To age cheese, you'll need an Aging Rack, which you can buy from Amon's shop for one gold, 12 silver, and 50 copper, before the Cheesery is even available to you. Place the Aging Rack in the cellar with the Aging Barrels, and then use it to bring up the aging menu. Add the cheese you'd like to age and allow it to process until it is complete. You can easily tell if the cheese is done aging by checking if it has moved to the right side of the Aging Rack.

We hope that our guide on How to make cheese in Travelers Rest is useful and you manage to embark on this interesting manufacturing process.
