Discover How to Control the Camera in Tiny Glade with this excellent and detailed explanatory guide.

Tiny Glade is the building-a-fortress game that has no prerequisites or leveling system; it arms players with all they need immediately and dares them to build the most fantastic glade they can imagine. There aren't many options regarding what you can build, but that's infinitely made up for with the interesting interactions to be had in this game.

At first, the camera controls in this game will feel a little goofy. But once you get the hang of it, they're actually rather fluid.

Tiny Glade: How to Control the Camera

Although Tiny Glade does not have any motion, by the players, there is control of a camera. In this 3D game, one is able to move the camera in almost any direction while they are limited to the glade they are in. You can easily change your vantage by modifying the height of the camera above or below you, zoom in or out, rotate the camera, and move about the glade. The following are the default camera controls:

Arrow keys, middle mouse button, move mouse button Move, Right mouse button and drag mouse Turn, E Up, Q Down, Mouse Wheel Zoom in/out, Numeric keypad, time display T, picture mode P shortcuts

These controls can be reset to their defaults from within the controls menu if they are not working correctly. Pressing Esc will pause the game. The gear symbol opens the options menu for the game. The Controls menu shows you what controls you currently have and pages through six pages.

You can flip the X/Y axis, rotation speed, and moving speed of your object to position it as desired.

How to Use Tiny Glade's Photo Mode

You can enable Tiny Glade's photo mode by using P or the camera icon on your hotbar. This will reveal a set of options you can tinker with to get the perfect shot.

Options:

  • Photo Folder: Launches the game's photo folder in your computer where you can view and manage the photos captured.

Camera Types:

  • House Camera: Fixed camera with an oblique view of the house and, therefore, relatively steady with respect to framing the shot of the whole scene.
  • Walking Camera: An on-ground camera controlled by you with more capabilities with respect to the exploration of the environment and framing the shot.
  • Flying Camera: The free-flying camera that circles the glade, enabling you to shoot aerials and POVs. Top-Down View: A bird's-eye view of the glade; you can see the landscape and its features all at once. Field of View (FOV): Fish Eye View: Distorts the view for an ultra-immersive effect-developing a unique and visually interesting perspective.
  • Field of View/Zoom: This sets the amount of zoom for the camera, enabling zooming in on details or covering an extra amount of the scene.

Aperture:

  • Vignette: Darkens from the edges inward into the photo, adding a touch of cinema to photos and dramatizing focus onto a centerpiece.
  • Aperture Size: Controls the amount of blur for areas outside the focused portion. You can choose from shallow depth of field for more selective focusing or deeper depth of field for sharper shots.

Focus:

  • Left Click: Sets and locks the focus point for accurate control of what is in sharp focus.
  • Focus Ring: The ring controls the size of the camera's aperture, which allows one to determine how much of your scene is in focus. Camera Button: A left-click of the camera button will take a picture. It will snap a photo of what you can currently see with your settings and composition.

Lighting Controls:

  • Saturation: This controls color saturation, allowing colors to pop more or be more subdued according to preference.
  • Brightness: It includes the brightness of the environment, which is handled for overall lightening of the scene.
  • Exposure: The exposure amount to the camera enables one to balance the exposures in different light conditions, like under bright sunlight and low-light conditions.
  • Color Filters: A number of filters are applied in real-time for instant transformation to the look of the scene with an enormous range of artistic effects.

Stylized Camera Filters:

  • Oil Painting Mode: An image featuring visible brush strokes gives it a textured look, adding an artistic feel to the photograph. White Wash Mode: Everything looks whitewashed, thus tidying up the atmosphere and making it very ethereal. See Through Trees: Transparency is given to trees to see right through foliage for hidden details or objects that may not be so close.
  • Change Direction of Sun: This will change the sunrise and sunset point of the sun, ultimately affecting the general direction and amount of sunlight within the scene.

Tips for Framing the Best Shots

The fact that a subject is of high quality does not have anything to do with the ability to capture a high-quality photograph of it. If you wish to be a decent photographer in this game, you'll want to know how light works and familiarize yourself with the very basics of photography. To get you started on that path, here's a few pointers:

Read the compositional rules and then practice them to make scintillating scenarios: Photographers use some very usual compositional conventions to create visually appealing and engaging images, like the rule of thirds, leading lines, the golden ratio, etc. The same guidelines you should study if you want to shoot interesting pictures in Tiny Glade.

Adjust the position of the sun in the sky using settings available in the game for optimum utilization of light and shadow effects. You need good lighting to get a decent shot.

Learn to know your camera controls and make the most of what you have at your disposal. Try each of these items in this toolbar for interaction with itself and the world. Decide what kind of shot you're looking for, then put your skills to work.

Setting varies per scene: There is no general rule of thumb that fits it all when it comes to photography, in-game or otherwise. Settings change according to the lighting, subject, and type of shot you will take.
