How to Change Time
Changing Time with Ease:
Tiny Glade features two easy ways to alter the time of day:
- Hotbar Icon: The icon of the sun on the bottom of your screen - in the hotbar, far right - opens a menu called the time control menu.
- Camera Menu: The camera menu has that same sun icon, second from the right, opening the time control menu.
By either of these icons, a time wheel will appear on the screen: the upper half of the wheel corresponds to daylight hours; the lower half represents nighttime. Simply rotate the wheel to your desired time.
A Note on Time Discrepancy:
While you drag the time wheel, you may observe that there is a slight lag between where the wheel is positioned and where in-game the lighting actually is. This lag is indicated by a darker cursor that follows your selected time on the wheel. The presence of this little lag allows the transition in the lighting effects to be smooth.
Locking the Sun's Position:
For specific situations, where the light has to be precisely the same, you can click the lock icon beside the time wheel. This icon will freeze the sun in one position and not allow it to continue its travel.
Tiny Glade knows how important lighting is when trying to capture that perfect scene created by the player. For this reason, the game actually allows control over the sun's position: not just with time control, but actual positioning. Here's how:
- Sun Icon: Click the same sun icon you've used for manipulating the time, either from the hotbar or from the camera menu.
- Sun Position Wheel: Below the wheel used for time control, another wheel is present, with a compass in its center. This dictates the position of the sun.
- Wheel Rotation: You can rotate this wheel to change the sun's position within the horizon, hence the direction of sunrise and sunset. It affects the directions of shadows within your glade.

- Keyboard Shortcut: Press the "T" key to immediately bring up the time control menu.
- Visual Cues: Observe the real-time dramatic lighting changes across the glade as you rotate the time wheel, guiding and assisting in framing a perfect aesthetic.
- Photo Mode Optimization: Photographers, note that Photo mode time control allows you the option to shoot your build under the best possible light.
