Updated August 5, 2024 by Jacqueline Zalace: Ready to experience first-person mode on PlayStation or Xbox? We have updated our guide with console controls so that everyone may experience this improved element of gameplay.
How To Go Into First-Person Mode in The Sims 4
Next to courting death, seeing the world from your Sim's point of view is quite easy. To do this in game, press the appropriate button on your console to switch to first-person view.
The Console
Use one of the following combinations to activate the console:
- PC: Shift + Tab
- PlayStation: Right stick (R3)
- Xbox: Right stick (RS)
Exiting and Navigating First-Person Mode
To get back to third-person view, use the opposite command that brought you into first-person view in the first place. On a PC, that means Shift + Tab again.
Once in first-person view, you will see the game world from a completely different perspective. You will be able to freely look around using your mouse or, if you are playing with a PlayStation or Xbox controller, you can use the right analog stick to do so. Pressing the Spacebar allows for easy cycling between playable household members while remaining in first person.
Want to get into the game's interface or menus? No problem. Just click your Shift key or touchpad to access what you need to do without destroying first-person immersion.
Sim World Navigation
It is very easy to move your Sim around their home. Just click your desired destination and select "Move Here" from the resulting pop-up menu. To move into another room, you just right-click on the door and select "Go Here." For those on a console, this effect is identical when one inputs 'O' on PlayStation and 'B' on Xbox.
Ease of use doesn't end here, as you will find interacting with the world to be quite as painless. You can click on any item or object visible to your Sim and it will interact with it.
A Note on First-Person Mode
While it's impressive to explore the world through a Sim, remember that The Sims 4 wasn't exactly designed for this kind of view. You will sometimes face graphical glitches like texture distortion or some unintended animation, which would otherwise ruin the feel. Another thing is that first-person view could be very disorienting to some players and may induce motion sickness. Use it at your own risk and always switch to the usual view if you start feeling bad.
In conclusion, knowing How To Go Into First-Person Mode in The Sims 4 is interesting because it allows us to develop and have more fun in this interesting and lively game.
