How To Bring A Sim Back To Life in The Sims 4

In The Sims 4, death is an inevitable part of every Sim's life cycle. Whether they pass on peacefully from old age or meet a more tragic end, the Grim Reaper will eventually come for them. However, for players who want more time with their beloved Sims, the game offers several ways to bring a deceased Sim back to life.While the base game provides a few options, the list of revival methods grows with each expansion and game pack, giving you more opportunities to cheat death. Most of these methods work on ghost Sims, so even if a favorite Sim has already passed away, it's not too late to bring them back. The process is easiest if the ghost is part of your active household. If they're not, you can use cheats or befriending them to temporarily add them to your household and make them playable.

How To Save a Sim Before Death

The most direct way to avoid a Sim's death is to plead with the Grim Reaper. When a Sim dies, the Grim Reaper will appear to reap their soul. At this moment, a living Sim from the household can interact with the Grim Reaper and select the option to "Plead for Life."The success of this plea depends on a few factors:

• Pleading Sim's Mood: Sims in a positive mood are more likely to succeed in their plea.
• Relationship with Grim: If the pleading Sim has a good relationship with the Grim Reaper, he is more likely to listen to their request. While difficult to befriend him in the base game, certain expansion packs, like the "Life & Death" expansion, make him more accessible.

If the plea is successful, the deceased Sim will be reincarnated and will not be reaped, effectively bypassing death entirely. However, if the plea fails, the Sim will be officially marked as deceased, and their tombstone or urn will be left behind.

Methods to Bring a Ghost Sim Back to Life

If you were unable to save a Sim from death, their ghost will remainin the game, allowing you to use one of the following methods toresurrect them.

1. Use the Book of Life

The Book of Life is a unique item that allows a Sim to return from the dead, but it requires preparation while the Sim is still alive.

• Requirements: A Sim must have the Bestselling Author aspiration, which is unlocked by mastering the Writing skill.
• Creating the Book: Once the aspiration is complete, the Sim can use any computer or laptop to write the "Book of Life." After the book is written, choose it fromthe author's inventory and select Bind a Soul to it. This can only be done on a living Sim, so you must be proactive.
• Revival: Should the Sim whose soul was bound to the book pass away, their ghostcan simply read the Book of Life to be brought back to life.

2. Eat Ambrosia

Ambrosia is a powerful dish that has been a staple of the Sims series for resurrecting Sims.

• Requirements: A Sim must have level 10 of both the Cooking and Gourmet Cooking skills.
• Ingredients: To make Ambrosia, you will need three rare ingredients:
  • One Angelfish (can be caught at Fishing skill level 3).
  • One Death Flower (can be grafted from a Pomegranate and Orchid at Gardening skill level 5).
  • One Potion of Youth (can be purchased from the Satisfaction Rewards Store for 1,500 points).
• Revival: Once all ingredients are in a fridge, your chef Sim can prepare theAmbrosia. If a ghost Sim consumes the dish, they will be brought back to life.

3. Wish at the Wishing Well

This method requires a pack that includes the Wishing Well (for example, the Romantic Garden Stuff Pack).

• Process: A ghost Sim can make a Wish for Life at a Wishing Well. You will need to make a monetary donation, with ahigher amount increasing the chances of a positive outcome. The WishingWell's mood, indicated by its face, also affects the outcome.
• Outcomes: The results of the wish can range from highly positive to overwhelmingly negative:
  • Overwhelmingly Positive: The Sim is revived and is invulnerable to all deaths except old age for 24 in-game hours.
  • Positive: The Sim is revived and receives a portion of Ambrosia in their inventory.
  • Neutral: The Sim is revived and receives one ingredient needed to make Ambrosia.
  • Negative: The Sim is not revived, and the money is lost.
  • Overwhelmingly Negative: The Sim is not revived, and you cannot wish for life again for four in-game hours.

4. Cast the Dedeathify Spell

If you own the Realm of Magic Game Pack, Spellcaster Sims can learn a powerful revival spell.

• Requirements: A Spellcaster Sim must learn the Dedeathify spell, which is part of the Untamed Magic school. The Spellcaster Sage, Morgyn Ember, can teach this spell.
• Revival: Once a Spellcaster knows the spell, they can use it to revive a ghostSim. This is done by selecting the Spellcaster social menu and choosingthe Dedeathify option.

5. Drink Vitality Nectar

The Horse Ranch Expansion Pack introduces a new form of nectar that can bring a ghost back to life.

• Requirements: A Sim needs to learn the recipe for Vitality Nectar. This can be obtained by making nectar with the home nectar-making kitor by befriending the townie Roberto Crinkletop, who will give you therecipe and a bottle.
• Recipe: To make Vitality Nectar, you must combine a Death Flower and two Spinach in the Rootin' Fruit'n Nectar Maker.
• Revival: When a ghost Sim drinks a bottle of Vitality Nectar, they will be brought back to life.

Begin Anew Through Rebirth

For those with the Life & Death Expansion Pack, a Sim's death is not the end of their story, but a new beginning. If aSim completed most of their "Soul's Journey" before dying, they may beeligible for a Rebirth. This is not a resurrection to their old life, but a chance to be reborn as a brand-new Sim.

• Requirements: A Sim must reach level 6 of the Soul's Journey aspiration.
• Process: Eligible ghost Sims can use a mirror to choose to be reborn. Theirskills and some traits from their previous life will carry over,depending on their progress. This allows you to start over with a freshlife while still honoring your Sim's past.
