Upon Character Death:

  • Players will respawn inside the Innards, their main base of operations.
  • All the gear the character had at the time of death is considered lost.

Recovering Lost Equipment:

  • 1. Navigation: The players have to go back to that particular location where the character died. This also involves being allowed to use another entry point for tactical reasons.
  • 2. Preparation: Before making the recovery run, it is important first to stock up on recovery items and ammunition. This will allow the player to have enough resources to explore the surrounding area and kill whatever is present along the way.
  • 3. Tracking Lost Equipment: The ingame compass will display a tombstone icon, pointing to the precise location the character died. It serves as a marker where one can recover their lost equipment.
  • 4. Recovery of Equipment: Upon arriving at the point indicated above, a player will find their lost equipment lying on the ground. A click of the recovery key-"E" by default or any other single key bound to the interaction key-will initiate the recovery process.
  • 5. Extraction Complete: The recovered equipment has to be permanently secured by reaching an extraction point within the area. This transports the equipment back in for future use to the Innards.

Important Considerations:

  • The game keeps one instance of recoverable equipment. Dying again before retrieval of lost equipment will result in permanent loss of the previous set.
  • Extraction from an area without recovery of lost equipment also translates into permanent loss. The retrieval of these should be the first priority of the players once they plan for a next excursion to get valuable resources back.

In conclusion, we hope that this guide on How to Recover Gear After Death in The Forever Winter will be helpful to you and that you can recover all your resources without any kind of inconvenience and in this way, continue advancing within the story. You will only need to be very attentive and follow the instructions provided, all this, while enjoying the experiences that The Forever Winter has to offer you.
