How to Get Pylons in Terraria - Ultimate Guide

Pylons are objects that can be placed in the game world to set up boss battles, create a network of Pylons, and increase the happiness of NPCs. Each type of Pylon has a specific purpose and can be used in combination with other Pylons to create a 124-tile high rectangle or a 169-tile wide rectangle. Pylons can only be placed in a certain part of the map based on the biome and will only work when placed within a certain range of each other.

Pylons in Terraria can be acquired by purchasing them from certain NPCs. To receive a 15% or higher discount, the happiness rating of the NPC must reach a sale modifier of 90%. This can be done by placing the NPC in a biome they like, having no more than two NPCs within 25 tiles, or having no more than three NPCs between 25 and 120 tiles. For example, to receive a 15% discount on all Pylons, the Arms Dealer must be placed near the Nurse with no other NPCs nearby. To acquire Snow Pylons, the Golfer and Angler must be put near each other.

Once the NPC has reached a Sale Modifier of 90%, they will be able to sell Pylons. One type of Pylon, the Universal Pylon, can be purchased without meeting these requirements. When interacting with the Pylon, the type of Pylon must be specified, as each type of Pylon will have a different effect.
