Stardew Valley's 1.6 update has significantly enhanced the fishing experience, introducing the Advanced Iridium Rod, the Fish Smoker, and the highly sought-after Legendary Roe. This guide details how to obtain and utilize this rare delicacy.

Stardew Valley: How to Get Legendary Roe

Unlike regular fish, which can be placed directly in ponds to produce roe, Legendary Roe requires a Legendary Fish.
  • Catch a Legendary Fish: You must first catch one of the five Legendary Fish in Stardew Valley. Each has unique requirements and locations (detailed below).
  • Place in a Pond: Once caught, place the Legendary Fish in a fish pond. It will gradually produce roe over time.
  • Pond Construction: Like other farm structures, you'll need to visit Robin and pay the required materials and gold to build the pond. The cost is:
    • 5,000 gold
    • 5 Seaweed
    • 5 Green Algae
    • 200 Stone

    • Uses of Legendary Roe:


    Like regular roe, Legendary Roe can be placed in a Preserves Jar to create Aged Roe, a more valuable artisan good.


    Profitability:

    Let's take Glacierfish as an example:

    • Fresh Roe: Glacierfish produces four units of roe, each selling for 530 gold. Selling all four yields 2,120 gold.
    • Aged Roe: Placing Glacierfish Roe in a Preserves Jar for three days turns it into Aged Roe, each selling for 1,484 gold. Selling four Aged Roe unitsresults in 5,936 gold.

    As you can see, selling Aged Legendary Roe significantly increases profit compared to selling fresh roe.
