In
Sons of the Forest, unlocking all three keycards—Maintenance, VIP, and Guest—is crucial for progressing the story, accessing valuable bunkers, and obtaining powerful loot. Before embarking on this quest, ensure you have the
shovel, rope gun, and rebreather, as these tools are essential for reaching the keycard locations. Here's how to find all three keycards in the correct order:
How to Get All 3 Keycards in Sons of the Forest
1. Maintenance Keycard- Location: Head towards one of the green circle pings on your GPS. Look for a small clearing containing a golf cart and some surveying tools. This marks the spot for a hidden hatch.
- Dig Site: Use your shovel to dig in the center of this clearing until you uncover the Maintenance A hatch.
- Bunker Navigation: Climb down into the bunker. You'll navigate through a long hallway.
- Finding the Keycard: You'll eventually reach a storage room. Be prepared for a few mutant babies. Clear them out, then look on a desk near a 3D printer. The Maintenance Keycard will be sitting there. This keycard is your ticket to the next two bunkers.
2. VIP Keycard- Location: With the Maintenance Keycard in hand, head to another green marker on your map. Look for a cave entrance near some golf carts.
- Hatch Entrance: Inside the cave, you'll find a hatch labeled "Food and Dining." Open it and descend into what appears to be a storeroom.
- Initial Loot: Loot the bodies you find for crossbow bolts.
- Maintenance Keycard Door: Proceed to the locked door that requires the Maintenance Keycard. Use it to open the way.
- Greenhouse Area: You'll enter a greenhouse-type area with plant racks and more mutant babies. The crossbow can be found here, between the plants, so be sure to grab it.
- Encountering a Finger Mutant: Move towards the dark doorway at the end of this room. Be ready, as a Finger mutant is inside. Defeat it to proceed.
- Flooded Corridor: Continue into another storage area, eventually reaching a long corridor partially flooded with water. Follow this path.
- VIP Keycard Location: Keep following the flooded path until you reach a locked door (don't go through it yet). Instead, take the hallway to your left. This leads to a monitor room with several screens. The VIP Keycard will be on the desk beneath these monitors.
- Optional VIP Area: Once you have the VIP Keycard, you can open the door to the actual VIP area, which is a large dining room full of mutant corpses. It doesn't contain much essential loot, so you can either leave the way you came or take the flooded exit (which is riskier due to more enemies).
3. Guest Keycard- Location: The final keycard is located near another cave entrance, distinguishable by an overgrown golf cart parked right outside.
- Initial Room: Head inside the cave and make your way down the tunnel until you find a small room containing a bed, a 3D printer, and various loot.
- Maintenance Keycard Door (Gym): From this room, take the lit path at the end of the hallway and turn right. You'll find a locked door. Use your Maintenance Keycard to open it and enter a gym area.
- Navigating the Gym: The gym is initially quiet, but dangers lurk. On the right is a pool teeming with baby mutants (which you can largely ignore). On the left, there's another gym section swarming with blind cannibals. You'll need to clear out these cannibals to safely progress.
- Reception Area: Eventually, you'll reach an orange-lit reception area. Be highly cautious here, as three Finger mutants are waiting: one behind the front desk and two more near the doors ahead. You can either fight them or attempt to sneak past.
- Upper Pool Area & Bar: Move into the next section with a set of stairs leading to an upper pool area. On your right, there's another locked door. Just past that, you'll find a bar area.
- Guest Keycard Location: Head to the back of the bar and search around the seating area. The Guest Keycard will be on a table, surrounded by several dead bodies.
Bonus Loot and Locked Areas
Before exiting the bunker where you found the Guest Keycard:
- Shotgun Rail: Don't miss the door near the bar that requires the VIP Keycard to open. Inside, you'll find a shotgun rail and other supplies.
- Additional Rooms: If you backtrack to the locked door before the bar (the one you passedon your way to the bar area), it will lead you to even more rooms.
- One tunnel leads out of the bunker (it's a large drop, making it a one-way exit).
- Another path takes you to a cinema room. Look around, and you'll discover a chainsaw on a dead body in one of the seats. Be prepared for a fight, as moreblind cannibals, babies, and a Finger mutant are lurking in this area.
By following this precise order—Maintenance ➜ VIP ➜ Guest—you will successfully unlock all the major bunkers, acquire some top-tiergear, and push further into the unfolding mysteries of Sons of the Forest. Remember to stay well-armed and vigilant, as the deeper you delve, the stranger and more dangerous things become.
