The new collectible Chao in Sonic x Shadow Generations gives you a fresh perspective on levels you may have already beaten in the original Sonic game.

Unlocking unique benefits in your collector's menu on the primary stage pick screen is rewarded with each of the six Chao that you find in each level, which are split between Act 1 and Act 2. The first stage you'll enter is Green Hill Zone. Some Chao are easy to spot, so you'll know they're there, but if you're moving too quickly, you might miss some.

Sonic x Shadow Generations: How to Find All Green Hill Zone Chaos

First Act 

Chao 1,

Located under a boulder at the start of the stage, just after you turn right, is the first Chao in the Green Hill zone. Finding it is straightforward. If you break the rock, it will be impossible to miss.

Puzzles 2 and 3

There is a lot of proximity between Chao 2 and Chao 3. Head for a spring that will shoot you into the air when you reach the part of the game where you descend a spinning platform.

As you immediately strike the red spring, the Chao sits on the ledge nearby, so if you blink, you'll miss it. You must ascend the column to its peak before descending to retrieve it.

Return to the springs for Chao 3, landing delicately on a little platform watch out for the right side is crucial. You'll need to land on this high-up yellow spring and jump across it to reach a higher level, but there's also a lone enemy here. If you happen to overlook it, you'll have to start the level over and come back to this section.

Proceed until you reach a rock while on the platform. The third and last Chao hides inside; destroy it.

 Act 2 

Chao 1

At the very beginning of Act 2, you'll encounter the first Chao. Underneath a chunk of rock, you'll find the Chao concealed beneath the farther-off rock.

Game of Chao 2

Sonic enters a side-scrolling segment of the level after escaping the giant red fish. In order to reach the platform more quickly, you'll encounter two bee opponents at the end of the game.

Just before the Bees, you'll see some yellow platforms; after you get to the part with the red spring on the box, you can go on to the finish of the side-scrolling segment. If you're moving at a high speed, you might not notice the Chao beneath it.

Chao 3

The last Near the level's conclusion, you'll find Chao. A wooden bridge with a spiral will lead you down a tight path to the end as you rush for the end goal. To access a secret area of the level that few players are aware of, skip the walkway and instead stand on the bridge. Then, use ground pounding techniques to break it.

You can complete Green Hill's Chao collection objective by moving forward after a fall; the last Chao will appear almost quickly before a selection of rings.
