How to Solve Shrine Vault Puzzle in Shrine Path in Silent Hill f

In the unsettling and beautiful world of Silent Hill f, mysteries are woven into the very fabric of the environment. One of the first major puzzles you'll encounter is the Shrine Vault Puzzle in the Shrine Path. After meeting a mysterious man in a fox mask, you'll be led to an area filled with hanging wooden Emas, and it's here that you must decipher the secrets to unlock a sealed vault.This guide will provide the solutions and walk you through the steps needed to solve the Shrine Vault Puzzle for both Story and Hard difficulties.

How to Complete the Shrine Vault Puzzle

When you first interact with the Shrine Vault, Hinako will noticethat a piece is missing from the lock. To find the missing piece and the combination, you must follow a series of clues.

Find the Doll's Clue: After saving your game at the Hokora, head back along the path on theleft to the laughing Inari statue. A small cutscene will play, revealing a red doll holding an item. Interacting with the doll will provide acrucial hint for the puzzle.

Deal with the Enemy:After reading the doll's text, a horrifying new enemy will appear. Youcannot permanently kill this creature, only temporarily incapacitate it, so it's a good idea to deal with it quickly.

• The enemyhas two main attacks: an overhead strike and a nine-hit combo that endswith an overhead slam. Both of these can be countered when you see a red glow by pressing the R2/RT button.
• The most effectivestrategy is to wait for the overhead attack, perform a counter, andfollow up with a few quick attacks of your own.

Find the Emas: With the enemy temporarily dealt with, you can now search for thespecific Emas that will give you the combination. The hint from the doll mentions three key terms: Lightning, Decayed Tree, and Kudzu.

• Kudzu is a plant that looks like a pink flower with many green leaves around it.
• The Emas are not all in one place, so you'll need to explore the area to the left of the main gate to find them all.

Flip the Emas: Once you locate an Ema with one of the three required symbols, you canflip it over to reveal a part of the combination. The game willautomatically note the symbols in your journal, so you don't have tomemorize them. After finding all three Emas, you will also acquire themissing Combination Lock Dial for the vault.

Shrine Vault Puzzle Solutions

Once you have all three symbols and the lock dial, you can return to theShrine Vault and enter the combination. The symbols you need to enterare revealed on the back of the specific Emas you find. The correctorder is crucial for the puzzle.

Story Difficulty Solution

For the Story difficulty, the puzzle is slightly more straightforward. Thethree Emas you need to find will have the following symbols: a crane, aserpent, and a tortoise. The correct combination is as follows:

• Top Dial: Circle with a horizontal line going through it.
• Middle Dial: Circle with a vertical line inside it.
• Bottom Dial: A snake-shaped 2 with a small v inside.

Hard Difficulty Solution

On Hard difficulty, the symbols are different. The Emas you need to findwill have a Lightning symbol, a Decayed Tree symbol, and a Kudzu symbol. The correct combination is as follows:

• Top Dial: A circle with two small lines inside.
• Middle Dial: A circle with a curved vertical line and a horizontal line going outside the circle.
• Bottom Dial: A square with a reverse capital J in between.

After entering the correct combination, the vault will open, and you will receive the Stone Key. A chase sequence will follow, and after a short run, you will complete the chapter.
