How to Get the Hellwalker Shotgun in Borderlands 4

How to Get the Hellwalker (Doom) Shotgun in Borderlands 4

The Legendary Hellwalker Shotgun is a dedicated boss drop from the Meathead Riders, a duo of bosses known as Saddleback and the Immortal Boneface. These two can be found at the Old Scrape Ripper Drill Site.The Old Scrape is located in the Cuspid Climb area of the Terminus Range. You will likely encounter this location as you progress through the main story, and it is easily identifiable by a large metal drawbridge and the bones of a dead giant.

Farming the Boss Fight

The fight against the Meathead Riders is a two-stage encounter:

• Clear the Mobs: Upon entering the Ripper Drill Site, you will be met with a largenumber of Ripper enemies and gun turrets. You must clear out theseenemies to trigger the main boss fight.
• Defeat Saddleback: The primary boss is the hulking mech known as Saddleback, which has the "Immortal" Boneface riding on top of it. You must defeat Saddleback first, as the Immortal Boneface cannot be damaged while it's in the mech. Saddleback has both an armor bar and a flesh bar, so you'll want to use a mix ofcorrosive and incendiary or cryo and incendiary weapons to deal with its health bars.
• Defeat Boneface: Once you destroy Saddleback, the boss's name will change to"Not-So-Immortal Boneface," signaling that you can finally defeat them.Focus your fire on Boneface to finish the fight.

Once the Meathead Riders are defeated, there's a chance that the legendary Hellwalker Shotgun will drop. The drop rate is determined by the game's RNG (Random Number Generator), so it might take you a few tries.

Efficient Farming with Moxxi's Encore Machine

To make farming for the Hellwalker much more efficient, you can use Moxxi's Encore Machine. This new feature in Borderlands 4 allows you to reset a boss fight without having to quit the game and reload.

After you defeat the Meathead Riders for the first time, Moxxi's Encore Machine will appear right outside the main arena. You can use this machine to instantly reset the boss fight, allowing you to quickly farm for the Hellwalker without any tedious menu navigation orlong-distance travel. The cost to use the machine increases with each use but is a small price to pay for uninterrupted farming.

Hellwalker Features

The Hellwalker is a Jakobs double-barreled shotgun, and it is a powerhouse of a weapon.

• Firing Pattern: It fires a unique spread of pellets in a pentagram formation, which is incredibly effective at close range.
• Unique Perk: A perk on the gun, "Sootheslayer," is a clear nod to the Doomslayer.
• Ricochet: Like other Jakobs weapons, the Hellwalker's pellets ricochet offenemies when you land a critical hit. This allows the gun to deal amassive amount of damage to a single enemy while also clearing out mobsin the vicinity.

Since loot in Borderlands 4 scales with your level, it's highly recommended to wait until you areat or near the max level before you seriously start farming for theHellwalker. Getting a max-level version of this shotgun will ensure itremains a viable and devastating weapon for the endgame content.
