Enabling Frame Generation in Silent Hill 2's remake is pretty straightforward. For whatever reason, the feature is not part of the in-game options, similar to most recent PC releases. Otherwise, if you're on a personal computer and would want to up your framerate, you will need to fiddle with one ini text file. Fear not, as the process is pretty simple:.
First, you will have to locate the Silent Hill 2 folder where that file would be, containing editable content. Herein is the general outlook of the path to the folder on a Windows PC:

From there, you can simply fire up the game, go into graphics options, and in that supersampling option, you'll have the ability to choose FSR 3.0. Note that other than FSR and FSR 3.0, no supersampling option gives way to Frame Generation. So yes, DLSS users, you're going to have to give that up if you want the boost in frames per second.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Steam Deck Version: How to Enable Frame Generation If you are not sure that the new Silent Hill 2 remake will work smoothly on your Steam Deck because of the reduced hardware specifications, the answer could be Frame Generation. Fortunately, Valve's portable gadget also supports Frame Generation. On the other hand, finding the "Engine.ini" file on the folder of a Linux-based device takes a little more effort.
Before attempting to get Frame Generation for Silent Hill 2 on the Steam Deck, the game may not behave as it should on this hardware, low-end especially in VRAM.
Just like last time, you'll add the same file and lines to the method, but this time it takes a little twistier path. First, make sure you can view hidden files on your Linux/Steam Deck computer:

This will take you down the path to the Engine, which comes very close to the Windows PC method.text file:
- "Window" in "users/steamuser/appdata/local/SilentHill2/Saved/Config."
- After you have performed edits in this file in the same manner as it was described above, you will be able to select here FSR, or FSR 3.0 supersampling and play this game on a home computer or while traveling.
