Two exceptional shortbows stand out: the Wild Scout's Shortbow, known for its speed and precision, and the Blightwood Shortbow, prized for its balance of speed and power. This guide will walk you through the detailed process of acquiring both of these valuable weapons.

How to Get the Wild Scout's Shortbow in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

The Wild Scout's Shortbow, favored by the Wild Knight scouts, excels in delivering accurate shots with a slightly faster draw time and deals 2.6x arrow damage.How to Obtain: Found within the vault in the Fractured Wilds.
Crafting Recipe (Artisan Skill – 125 XP):

• Oak Logs ×10
• Antler ×2
• Wool Thread ×2
• Dwellberries ×2

Fractured Plains Vault Guide to the Bow Recipe:

To reach the vault entrance in the Fractured Wilds and ultimately the Wild Scout's Shortbow recipe, follow these steps:

Ascend the Mountainside: Use the Windstep spell to climb up the mountainside to reach the vault entrance.

Clear the Entrance: Defeat any enemies present and clear any rocks blocking the cave entrance.

Navigate the Puffer Plants: Approach the cave cautiously as puffer plants are hidden along the narrow path. Attack them from a distance to trigger their explosions safely before getting too close.

First Room: Enter the square-shaped room. A hallway leads to an irregularly shaped second room containing two Hulks and one Sentinel. Lure them back to the first room and fight them one at a time,prioritizing the Sentinel if both it and a Hulk are aggroed. Utilizedodging and stamina management. You can exit the vault to reset enemiesand their health if needed. To the right of this combat room, find achest and nodes for Sandstone and Rune Essence. Progress past a floortrap and find a small alcove with a Dragonkin Effigy to learn the Paladin's Platebody recipe.

Second Room: Go upstairs, avoiding plate traps. The path splits. Take the left path to find another Dragonkin Effigy at the back, unlocking the Paladin's Helm recipe, and a chest. Continue upstairs for a second chest and a Vault Core. Proceed through the next door to a T-intersection. A Tin node is to the right, and a wall trap with the path forward is to the left. Beforecontinuing, turn around and to the right to find a hidden chest. Thepath leads to a large room with platforms and two Sentinels on the platforms. Rats and Rune Essence/Copper nodes are on the groundlevel. Jump across the platforms to the right side of the room to find a third Dragonkin Effigy (beware a floor trap directly in front of it) to learn the Paladin Platelegs recipe.

Final Room: This room contains 1 Aurchon, 1 Sentinel, 3 Hulks, and 1 Rat. Lure them back to the platform room. Use Windstep to reach the thirdlevel where you found the second Vault Core and safely attack theenemies from above. Repeat until all are defeated. Afterward, search the room for a third Vault Core, a chest, and the final Dragonkin Effigy. Interacting with this last effigy will unlock the recipe for the Wild Scout's Shortbow.

How to Get the Blightwood Shortbow in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

The Blightwood Shortbow is a reliable weapon known for its speed and power, crafted from rare Blightwood, delivering powerful ranged attacks.

• Power Level: 4
• Durability: 1300
• Damage Type: Arrow
• Attack Style: Bow
• Damage Multiplier: 4.1×

Crafting Requirements:

• Crafting Station: Smithing Anvil
• Skill Level: Artisan (300 XP)

Materials Needed:

• Blightwood ×8
• Swamp Thread ×3
• Iron Bar ×1
• Jade ×1
• Vault Shard ×4

How to Obtain the Necessary Materials:

• Oak Logs: Level up your Woodcutting skill and craft a Bronze Axe to chop down Oak trees found in the Fractured Plains (trees with wider trunks than AshTrees).
• Vault Shards: Found inside Vaults by opening chests or defeating Vault Sentinels. Six Vaults are located across the DragonWilds.
• Iron Bars: Mine Iron Ore in the Stormtouched Highlands (resembles copper but with a darker tint). Smelt three Iron Ore into one Iron Bar using a Furnace(requires a Smithing Anvil to craft).
• Wool Thread: Use a Spinning Wheel to combine Fleece (dropped by sheep and rams inFractured Plains and Stormtouched Highlands) or Soft Animal Fur (dropped by wolves in the same areas). Three Soft Animal Fur yield two WoolThread, and one Fleece yields one Wool Thread.
• Antler: Hunt deer found in Bramblemead Valley and Temple Woods using a bow.Crouch and move slowly to approach them, then use a heavy attack.
• Jade: Mine Iron Deposits in the Stormtouched Highlands (northwestern region)after unlocking the Gem Prospector perk at level 16 Mining. Use theRocksplosion Spell on Iron Ore nodes to increase your chances.
• Swamp Thread: Gather Swamp Weed (small, green plants blending into the environment in Bloodblight Swamp). Use a Spinning Wheel to process Swamp Weed intoSwamp Thread.
• Blightwood: Found near the entrance of Bloodblight Swamp (east of BramblemeadValley). Look for white roots at the base of large Blightwood trees andchop them with at least a Bronze Axe (Iron Axe recommended for fasterharvesting). Place a Lodestone near the swamp entrance for easieraccess.
• Dwellberries: Gather from dwellberry bushes in the Fractured Plains. They provide a small amount of sustenance.
