Early in your playthrough, you'll be tasked with establishing crucial delivery routes, beginning with connecting your Forward Base to a Phosphate Plant. As you advance, the complexity escalates, requiring you to establish multiple routes from various points across the map, all while meticulously ensuring they don't collide or impede each other.Navigating this initially tricky system, especially when encountering route problems, is a core challenge. RoadCraft: How to plot routes

Your first opportunity to plot a route will occur during RoadCraft's initial campaign mission, where the objective is to deliver crane parts from the Forward Base to the Phosphate Plant.

Access the Infrastructure Menu: Within the quest's objective, you will find a clearly labeled button: "Infrastructure: Route." Select this to open your infrastructure menu.

Select Your Route Objective: In this menu, you'll see your active routes and options to plot new routes for your current objective. For the first mission, you'll likely only have one route available to plot. Select this option to begin creating a path from the Forward Base to the Phosphate Plant.

Place Waypoints: Starting from the Forward Base, your task is to place down small waypoints along the intended road to the Phosphate Plant.

• Strategic Placement: Your primary goal is to design a path that avoids colliding with environmental obstacles, doesn't traverse overly rough terrain, and ensures turns are manageable for your trucks.

• Avoid 90-Degree Angles: Do not create any sharp, 90-degree angles in your route. Trucks in RoadCraft require wide turns to navigate effectively. Plan for gentle curves to ensure smooth passage.
• Follow Road Lines: Whenever possible, follow existing road lines as often as you can. If you place a route marker in a spot that's difficult for your vehicle to access, it's highly likely that the NPC-driven deliverytrucks will struggle there too. Stick to established, traversable paths.
• Move Your Vehicles: Ensure your own vehicles (your car, cranes, etc.) are outside of the delivery route's path. NPC trucks cannot drive through your parked or active vehicles, andthis is a common cause of route blockages. You can enter your vehiclethrough your map and move it if it's obstructing a delivery.
• Troubleshooting Failure Messages: If you encounter a failure message, immediately scroll into the map and zoom in on the affected section to identify the cause.
  • Barriers or Rough Terrain: If you observe a barrier on the road or particularly rough terrain along your plotted path, edit the affected route marker and move it slightly out of the way, or consider significantly changing your route's overall path to bypass the problematic area entirely.
  • Stuck Vehicles: In rare instances, one of your own vehicles might get stuck at some point. If this happens, you may need to teleport it elsewhere before delivery trucks can continue their route.
• Addressing Route Convergence (Traffic Jams): Later in your playthrough, as you establish multiple routes, you mayexperience problems with two or more routes converging onto each other,leading to traffic jams.
  • Open Alternative Entrances: Oftentimes, large facilities like the Phosphate Plant have multiple entrances. You can frequently open other entrances, such as the Phosphate Plant’s southern gate, to provide alternativepaths into a location.
